Same problem. I select a character and the map loading screen dissolves into that ^.
I kinda hope shield ISN’T our new weapon. From what I have heard (mostly rumors) and saw in the video, rangers (and a rumor said warriors) are getting staff, necros are getting GS, Theifs are getting rifles, and Engis are getting hammer. Compared to all those new 2 handers a one hand seems kinda like a gimmick, especially an offhand one. If they reverse it like gs and make it on hand it will still feel short compared to a 2 hand. Hopefully we will get lucky and get a 2 hand shield or something.
Also I have quip and don’t want to give it up without a fight

I’m sure we have all seen the debate about the torment that will be added on scepter AA. I don’t want another thread about people discussing if the change is op or decent, but instead, for people to post what they wanted to be done about scepter instead. Im sure the thread has been started earlier but I have couldn’t find it so im starting a new one. Hopefully if they do end up nerfing it before its released they will replace it with a better design instead of scraping the idea.
Personally I want a faster auto attack (animation and velocity). After that, I think a better idea would be to add weakness for a few seconds on the first 2 AAs. on the third one the blast should apply torment and summon a clone, but the clone would attack with weakness instead of torment. This still gives us some decent condi dmg and makes our clones slightly useful.
Please tell me your idea!
YES. ill say that first as my stand point
I do however recognize that the aa is incredibly over powered. I know that in a few months it will lead to a heavy handed nerf and scepter will be worse off then before but I cant help but see rainbows ever since the skill bar. Honestly imo its not that much of a game breaking buff. In PvE its as useless since all condis are useless. Torment is worse then bleed since its all stack and kill. In PvP it may be really powerful 1 v 1 but PvP isn’t a 1 v 1 game. Its not much of a support skill and wont do anything for your team. That one auto attack isn’t going to make people want to have you on their team more then another class. In WvW it will make tons of people cry about 1 v 1s and 1 v 2s but, again, not a 1 v 1 mode. wont help you in a zerg.
If this change has to be removed I hope that at least we will get something to compensate. Besides the AoE mantra, buff to maim, and gs 3, this patch is for the most part nothing but bug fixes.
P.S. -I dropped PU back in april and having been playing maim since then.
Again. The idea does need a lot of tweaking to be less exploitable but its a lot better then nothing at all! I don’t know if its just my server but upgrading, sieging, and defending is carried about by a very small handful of us. Anything is better then our current system of nothing.
1) Allow the people that purchase an upgrade to receive a percentage of the cost back to them per tick the item is owned. For example, if they spend 75 silver upgrading a keep they gain 10% -20% of it back to them per tick the item is owned. After they reach their base amount it keeps returning it back to the upgrader as profit so they can make money by upgrading and keeping it for long periods of time. This encourages more people to upgrade and gives a reason for those that do to defend it.
Ok so I go to some keep, spend a few silver on the cheapest upgrade then, because I know my server is dominant during the next xx hours or because the wvw is dead for most of the day in my tier, we won’t lose it and I’ll make a whole lot of money from doing nothing.
Oh no, someone else beat me to it! Now he’ll make the money and not me! Better not let my allies know if it’s under attack. That way we lose it and I can start the upgrade first when we recap it. I should also rage at that guy for starting the upgrade I was meant to.2)Give people that earn the Successful Defense event completion award a chest equal to the award they would have gotten for taking it every time they earn it. Also up the WxP for the defense events so defenders can actually level up. This may need a little tweaking since a champ bag and dragonite bag every 3 minutes you defend a keep ( if you get the successful defense award which you don’t get that often) may be a little OP but it gives rewards to defenders that match that to those taking things. Making it more rewarding to defend then taking also encourages more people to defend and hold onto stuff then to let it go and just retake.
Ok, let me afk in my keep while my server mates do all the defending. I’ll get rewards for no effort, definitely working as intended.
3) Finally, I think they should give a reward chest to all people that WvW that week. The reward can be small but there should be some reward based on ranking that encourages people to try and earn first outside of the tournaments. 10 gold for first place and 250 badges of honor for first, 7 gold and 200 badges for 2nd and 5 gold and 150 for 3rd is my suggestion. This gives just something to reward people that play WvW all year round. Also adding their upgrading returns to their end of the week chest would be a easier idea then giving them gold every tick. With these changes I think that WvW will take a small step into becoming more balanced.
It’s like I didn’t already know that bonus chests were awarded based on a server’s placing for that week!
1)The idea does need some sort of tweaking or entire new idea, yes, there are some obvious flaws such as that. But there needs to be some sort of reward for those who selflessly spend their hard earned cash making those waypoint. I would love to hear your suggestion for a return on upgrading
. People not letting their allies know would be absolutely nothing new since people do it all the time so they can just retake later for the WxP/loot. Additionally the amount returned scales with the upgrade so it doesn’t have to be a keep. instead of letting your own stuff good you could take something as small as an enemies camp and hold it for a long enough time to get a return on it.
2) No you cant just afk. You only get the successful defense when you kill something or destroy enemy siege. you could sit their hammering their siege with an ac for 3 ticks. you would only get it on the one it dies.
3)The bonus chest is a very small reward and requires you to play the next week and rank up multiply times to get all the rewards for your rank. The reward should be given without having to do anything since you earned the reward in the previous week
These are just my suggestions. I know they aren’t perfect and I would love to hear your guys ideas.

That’s right folks , I’m talking about defending! Defending the borderlands in WvW (running yaks, buying upgrades, siege up, etc.) is the least profitable and most expensive way to play GW2. If you do your job right as a defender, you go through loads of gold on siege and upgrades, waste time chasing small groups of roamers, and get little to no reward for it. On top of that you may even spend time sitting and waiting for things to happen so that you will be able to alert the zerg when it does. Offensive play rewards you with decent loot drops, champ bags, dragonite, and a lot of WxP. The WxP for defending even SM is equal to that of taking a single camp! On top of that you get no champ loot and dragonite for all your hard work. At the end of the day your are left bitter, broke, and feeling like you wasted your time.

The Hobosack I can deal with but covering up all the effects of my legendary is insane. All that hard work and just to not even see it.

am i the only person that is having an issue with retaining my rune but changing my stats – or am i being really thick, i hope im not.
Guys i want to un-equip soldiers armour and equip knights, but as far as i can tell the only way i can do this now is to buy the knights and a new rune as i dont see how else i can do this.
the wardrobe only offers me a skin, so can will still keep my soldiers stats. If i equip the knights armour i cant get the rune from my old soldier armour – at least with the old transmutation stones i could get exactly what i wanted with no issues. i use 2 peices of armour, that combined the stats, rune and looks i wanted, and out came what i was after – now im just totally confused and seem to only be able to change the look but still keeps the old unwanted stats…. anybody help?
I am having a very similar issue. I have the expensive perplexity runes and torment runes with torment sigils and force sigils on gear that I no longer use. Added it all up and its 127 gold worth of sigils/runes alone. I cant afford a new set of runes and I cant salvage it since it was all bought in WvW. So far the upgrade extractor is the only option but if I could afford it, I could just buy new runes/sigils and the old ones would still be sitting in my bank.
Some simple solutions would be to allow gear to be mixed or ALL armor/weapons to be salvageable . If they don’t want karma/WvW armor to be salvageable, set it to where the salvage kits only remove from the runes/sigils when the gear is destroyed. Or even lower the price of the upgraded extractor so its reasonable compared to what you be getting back. At the moment one upgraded extractor is 20-25 gold worth in gems. there is only 1 sigil that is more then that in the game so far so either way it makes more sense to re-buy the sigil. Please Anet do something! Really sucks to know you have a small fortune in runes/sigils that are currently useless to use
1) Phase Retreat: Free clone. Awesome escape. Low cooldown.
2) Blurred Frenzy: High Dps. Immune to damage. Makes other classes envy you
3) Chaos Storm: Our only real AoE which makes a large difference in a zerg fight.
As much as I have tried maim in PvP, a lockdown build or PU always feels a lot more effective. I’m hoping at some point they add more sigils and runes to PvP.
I changed the 4 in Chaos to 2 in inspiration for the condition heal and 2 in domination for more damage. I also took phantasmal fury so my illusion crit more often for the bleed. I know Rabid or Dire is better for a condition Mesmer, however i’m trying to be a hybrid so it isn’t completely shut down by condi-proff eles and guardians, and is still useful in dungeons. The mantra Heal isn’t that useful because the runes have a 20 sec cooldown.

So far this is my build using the new illusion GM trait. It can keep 5 stacks of torment or more on a target and is extremely devastating in small group fights. It can keep torment and confusion on 1 target or whole groups of them. Then you can watch as they basically self destruct.
Build – The last trait is Maim the Disillusion and the 2nd staff sigil is Corruption. The main difference between this build and others with the same trait is Rampagers gear instead of Rabid. I like it better because the extra power bonus makes you shatters do more damage, they aren’t just for the conditions, but the build will work fine with Rabid. Also this build works perfectly fine in PvE as well (since so many people hate condi builds in dungeons). As far as traits go the 6 in illusion and 4 in dueling is a must. The other 4 make no difference but taking Chaotic Dampening is useful for getting out more clones. And if they ever fix IE staff clones will be that much more useful. Torch can be used but the pistol works much better with Rampager gear and stacks a large amount of bleeds to add to the condition damage. The Utilities are totally up to you. I know a lot of people like null field. I personally prefer the mantra but its really up to you. Dire trinkets are for more defense cause I cant stand be squishy. If you would rather have more damage just go full Rampager.
The play style is simple. Summon and shatter. I mainly stay in scepter/pistol when trying to dish out damage and switch to staff for defense. In PvP its a bit harder since we don’t have torment runes or sigil, but its still useful with undead or night mere. Rampager in PvP. Will take a bit more work but should get the job done.
Edit I have stopped using maim in PvP altogether at this point. Without torment runes or sigil I feel like there are better options.
I don’t want to bore anyone with a overly long post so just tell me what you guys think!
