I love the new maps, because without them i would never have stoped playing wvw, and since wvw is the only thing i played in GW2 it means i stoped playing wvw FOR NOW, but i’ll hop in and tag up as soon as the old BL are back as advertized when they talked about rotating old and new maps. But one thing is clear HoT was def. the last time i threw in some $ into their hungry pve/E-Sports (What a joke sports) bs.
WvW was true Endgame and we all expected something like an Alipen Bl 2.0 not a god kitten EOTM 4.0
I know for a fact that Anet is working on some things to address wvw, but for some reason they’re not talking about them even if they’re changes we’ve been asking for. Terrible PR decision if you ask me.
Well i know someone in the WvW dev team who says that you are a story teller, so who is right now?
The person i know from a-nets dev team or your person?
Or do we both don’t know anything and you just try being important?
Sorry, I lost all my hope in a-net doing the right thing so its not personal against you its just me beeing over and over skeptic towards anything that would include a-net talking to the right ones. I guess they have chosen ther all time fav beloved streaming dullys.
Well at least one could give proper feedback if i would not believe that he is a typical German that crys out loud on his stream but dosent have the balls to talk for real if its needed.
I dont get the point of this discussions, while it is so easy to analyze the situation.
1. Did players warn Developers that they do NOT want another eotm disapointment in WvW?
2. Did players tell A-Net that WvW needs fixings on technical sides first, lag, map cap issue aso?
3. Did we have a WvW CDI where we told them what the problems are?
4. Did A-Net respect our feedback given to them in the CDI’s?
5. Didint wee make it clear enough that a map full with eotm esque mechanics and looks and feel will make players feel like beeing FORCED into eotm esque map and mechanics?
6. After 3 Weeks of brain of grind on mode pve do players come back and enjoy the new eotm 2.0 maps?
7. Will A-Net give a statement tho this fiasco soon?
For me its clear, i was in the German wvw cdi and i could give direct feedback to Mr. Domke. Me and many others told him that eotm was, is and always will be an disappointment and has nothing to do with wvw. Sad that this feedback never got any attention. So for me this game ()only WvW) is dying and at the moment no one at A-Net seems to care. Giving feedback would be the minimum. But for the moment it feels like they do the lets wait and see what happens game.
It feels like a-net is thinking:
“sooner or later we will have broken them and they will accept their new home on the desert bl and finally start playing the EOTM game, Hahahahaha”

Why cant i respond to the discussion which is going on in the thread i opened but there is no dev or support telling me what happened or why i cant respond.
Remember, you’ve seen that many designers are actively reviewing professions. So don’t give up hope, and be sure to keep in mind that the devs have to look at the big picture as well as the small. There is a lot of careful and critical review taking place, and I have a feeling there will be other changes in the future. (And no, I don’t know what they are, but I’m glad that the professions are getting so much attention these days, and this change seems a really great step in the right direction!)

I’m looking into the combat degen resulting in too heavy a gating of Celestial Avatar in PvE situations; from what I saw over the weekend it seemed overly restrictive in open world battles. If this continues it then the degeneration when out of combat is likely to be removed.
CAN u PLZ in goods name relocate the tiger and vivren PLT PLZ PLZZZZZZZZZ

i am a wvw player i dont want to waste my time in pve watching ppl failing the event again and again and beeing forced to wait and search for a map where an organized party is killing the boss so i can go and get my pet.
Why are u forcing me to play an event over and over again, just to get my pet, this is not nice to your Rangers, and sorry but i am raging right now.
today from 6 am until 2 pm i was trying to get my tiger and e v, but nope no one no map no organisation could do it.
II want to go and play wvw not camp a pve map for an event i dont like to get acces to my class proffesion skills.
No other klass has to do that kind of thing.

can u plz fix ranger pet locations NOW,
its not fun to camp for 8h on DS now just to fail after fail after fail, and other ppl who did not fail selling it fo ppl who are looking for in lfg.
This is not fun this is not FAIR
No other Profession has this kind of extra GATING to accses his profession skills.
yes im talking about the ranger pets which are my profession skills.
@Roy Cronacher, would it be possible to use this same type of system except a maybe 25% damage reduction on pets in WvW? Pets die instantly in WvW battles and it would help immensely to make some class features available in WvW… Of course percentages can always be tweaked until a balance is found.
This is not currently possible. For this change we made creatures, at the base AI level, look at what they are targeting and what they hit to adjust damage accordingly, it has nothing to do with player damage interactions. Doing this for WvW. adjusting outgoing player damage to minions, is not tech we are currently working on and likely would cause some perf issues as well. Players attack much much more often then creatures. So doing checks on each one of the damage targets from a player can become expensive very quickly. Though, that’s not to say that we won’t ever consider investigating it, but for now this change is specifically for creatures attacking player minions and we’ll be balancing it and seeing how it goes.
Couldn’t this be accomplished with a zone wide buff on minions in WvW areas with a percentage of all incoming damage reduced or greatly increase their mitigation in some way and just have the dmg adjusted as it lands? This seems like it may be a good low hanging fruit option. Because right now any and all minions/pets and even those coming with the elite specializations will be useless absolutely utterly useless in any large scale fights.
Things are rarely that simple. While you may be looking at that from a larger scale fight perspective and it would probably help there, it would create other problems such as making minions too strong and frustrating in smaller to mid scale combat with just a flat reduction always on them.
If so why on earth dont u give us the Option to play without our Pets in WvW and buf our dmg instead and let us execute the proffesion skills of the pets?
Its so unfair to gate profession skills for the ranger behind an Event that is failing most times. I want to play wvw not lose time doing an event which fails most of the times. Which other profession has to do that?

Honestly guys, which part of the sentence “We do not want another EOTM map (in case u dev and pr guys dont know what eotm is, it is the overflow map called t”he edge of the mists" map) did u not understand?
Honestly tell me which part of this sentence u do not understand and ill change that part so u do understand it.
We told u a million times how much we do NOT like the eotm map and that it is not WvW and has nothing to do with WvW and that we do not want to see that type of map architecture in the real WvW. We had the cdi with the communitymanagers where we told them that we do not want another eotm map. In every situation we had the chance to talk about WvW we told you guys always that another EOTM is NOT the solution for the existing concerns in WvW.
Lets take a look at what we have at the moment:
1. Lags all over the place
1.1 Unstable servers
2. Empty servers in lower tier
2.1 Bad ppt system
2.2 Bad Reward system engaging winning team joiners to leave their servers (made sfr big btw. )
2.3 Bad match up system
3. Forced to pay for server transfer
4. Buggusers
5. Karmatrainers
6. afk bot users stayig afk on a map for hours just to avoid the Q on primetime
7. As if all of that and many more already existing concerns are not enough, now we are getting forced to play on EOTM / PVE Wonderland 2.0

Why is there no feedback on the negative feedback aka the true concerns the players have?
This map is the biggest Fail A-Net could have had done to our wvw community. I already cann see the queues on the EBG map and lost and empty border maps
It makes sick reading most of these comments who don’t want to fight enemies in WvW.
You wanna say we destroyed your game mode? Ok, well thanks for turning WvW into another regular PvE map.
The bigger the Blob, the less your personal skill counts towards the victory. If you want to be proud of your PvP Skills (talking about all those GvG Guilds), dont throw 30 man blobs at each other. Go into sPvP and fight 5v5 Customs or if 5v5 is too small for your Guilds taste, go to OS and fight 8v8 GW1 Style or 10v10 or whatever.
In those places you don’t interrupt the flow of the WvW Matchup of your Server with taking 30 Spots of People that care about the score instead of useless killing.
Wait wait wait, WHUUUUAT?
30 vs 30 is easyer than 10v10 pff ok! Shure buddy! Coordinating 30 players in a fight is shure easyer than coordinating 10 players all 1v1 ing in the smal scale shure. I finaly realize how wrong i was with believing that it takes more effort and time to train and form a proper 20 25 player WvW guild than just going 5v5 (1v1) spvp.
Well now the patch is out and look at the ranger forum, everyone is complaining.

The CDI was ages ago and there where thees main Point on which we complained in the Forums but all we got was a bursty LB which is now a viable Weapon for a class which is not viable.
I had a lot of hope that there will be some major changes to the real Problems we have got with our class, but they do care so less about rangers that they did not even try to find someone who at least plays (did not have to main it) a ranger for the stream yesterday. To be honest i have the strange feeling that those who messed up the ranger will do no good with the Dudu. I mean what dose the Dudu change at all, we don’t even know that i know, but the rangers ongoing problems are not solved so the Dudu will be a topping to a class which still is broken, and thats why i thing the CDI was finaly a Fail.
If u are honest to yourself you would have to agree that all we have got where some little qol changes for the ranger, but at the same time they are killing right now the spirit Ranger and the trapper ranger.
Compare it to the Necromancers, they got ground targeting Wells we lost this for our traps, their minion army still can follow the necro after casting them, our spirits can’t.
There is so less utility for Rangers and their 7-0 skills.

So we only have signets and WS skills left, both delivering no utility or not good enough utility to a party.
The name ranger have nothing to do with long range on weapons.
Go to char. creation ingame read the description for the Ranger and write this again.
It looks like the Ranger CDI was a big Fail.
Two of the major ponits i can remember in the CDI have been: Pets which are still useless in most cases and the the Sword.
So what did we get from the CDI?
Pets are still broken.
Sword is still useless in in WvW and a safe way to kill yourself.
Shouts provide nothing to a party but to a useless perma dead Pet in WvW, and in PvP no one especially enemy’s do care about Ranger Pet’s.
There have been so many good ideas for pets, an alternative weapon for mele main hand aso. but nothing changed in the core. All we got was a pew pew pew build with more bursty feeling but not more dmg at all.
Look at the Twich Steram of DPS today, it was like a smack in the face, as if we do not get enough smacks in the face in WvW from any Commander and Guild actively NOT wanting Rangers in their Raids. Same in Dungeons and in PvP. So Rangers are only Playable in open world content until the waves of tequa kill your Pets.
I have read about a dev. complaining about the bad vibes she or he received because of the bad feedback they received during the announcement of the preorder debacle.
One twitter post was like: “Today i just don’t want to go online anymore”
For you it was one bad day, for us Rangers that’s how we feel in WvW since day one.
