My friend has found the recordings but not the refugee items. Perhaps they removed the items already but not the recordings?
In the past few days, I’ve seen the mysterious devices but zero covered objects. I’ve read forums where people have said they’ve guested on other servers to find them items. I’ve tried guesting over the past few days, but haven’t had any luck.
If the quest isn’t available any more, ANet should say so clearly, and should remove it from the list or otherwise indicate that it’s disabled in-game.
What I really want from ANet is a clear answer one way or the other so I can stop wasting my time. I’ve been checking for this stuff every day and it’s hugely frustrating. It’s like the fetch quest from hell that is randomly impossible to complete.

Nonsense. Lost and found was bugged. People were guesting on servers trying to find the items, but you have a limited number of guests per day so if you weren’t lucky you were S.O.L.
I’ve wasted hours on lost and found, and I really need a definitive answer about whether it is working before I waste more time running around and not seeing any covered objects.
Please, ANet: no more quests like this.
I haven’t seen any snow covered objects despite looking for DAYS. This is the most frustrating waste of time I’ve ever experienced in Guild Wars 2.
Great post, but do you think Feast of corruption (scepter 3) is worth using as-is? If you’re spec’ed heavy condition damage you might be giving up more damage to use it because during the time you’re casting feast of corruption you’re not spamming scepter 1.
I think it’d be better if it were an instant cast, so you don’t have to stop stacking debuffs with the number 1.
