The ONLY thing bad about the OLD system was having to guess the price. Say you wanted 7 gems, you throw in 1 gold and then increment the silver to get it to go up from 6 to 7, then back off the copper to get EXACTLY 7 gems. This sucked.
The NEW system at least says, this is EXACTLY how much 400 gems cost, so that’s good. But that’s like what? Nearly 80 gold as I type this?!
The FIX is SIMPLE and would make it EASIER for those oh so important that we don’t care about anyone else NEW PLAYERS. Instead of saying how much gold they want to spend, just let us put in how many GEMS we want to BUY.
(I imagine with 1600+ replies this suggestion has already been made, but TLDR so +kudos and credit to whoever posted it first)
Problem solved, everyone’s happy.
With 4-5 million accounts, each having up to 5+ names, there are likely well over 20 million character names registered in GW2.
How many of you had a name for a character in mind to only find it’s taken? Then how many of you have friended that name only to see that it NEVER comes online (or the account for that matter). There are a LOT of dormant names in the system.
So what can be done? ArenaNet could deactivate unused names / force renaming upon reactivation (doesn’t the old republic do this?). If your name is unique enough, it may still be available. In no way would I suggest the Diablo II route, have character’s expire. But at the same time, I think it’s a waste to have so many names just left on dormant accounts doing nothing. Especially because of players who leave, probably half come back at all.
I would suggest is that accounts that lie dormant for six months should have their names freed up into the system. It would help curb all the names with extended ascii characters, or the ones with Xx prefixes xX suffixes, and the like. However, I feel there will be lots of complaints with such an addition.
But something I think everyone would agree with would be a name exchange service. Think of an item that the BLTC could add to the supplement the name change contract. A name exchange contract. Have it cost about twice that of a name change, but you can use it to invite a player to swap names with you. The other player can take the name of your character, or enter a new name of their choice. You would of course have their name on your character. You can even make it so the invite comes with a gold incentive, a bribe if you will, to get the player to change names with you. The item would be used / contract accepted when the invited player enters in a new name.
This would take the risk out of say, messaging someone with a name you want, offer them a name contract and some gold, hope they use the contract on that character, wait 24hrs, then try to get the name for yourself (before some random person creates a character and just so happens to use it). That’s a lot of trust and risk just to get a name.
The only problem would be trying to use this on a dormant account. If they never check the game, they would never know… but then that leads to my other suggestion.
Now that the Digital Deluxe comes with “Suit of Legacy Armor*” does that mean that every character you create on such an account can get this item? Sorta how like each character I make gets the portal stone and the golem banker with my edition?
I have to agree, the fine transmutation crystals need to be sold in game. Also the new makeover kits should also be done via NPC vendor. However, the skins should be available in parts, not just full sets. Furthermore, those skins should be accessible similar to the hall of monuments rewards, infinite use per account. It’s insane that we not only have to buy the set additional times for other characters on our accounts, but we have to use transmutation stones to keep the look after we get it in the first place.
I’d rather see the old login screen somehow adapted into the window launcher. The current launcher is pretty meh, the old launcher was epic. Combine the concepts, animation, but still in a manageable window size.
I would settle for a simple loot only button. Can’t stand it when it starts picking NPCs to res instead of looting.
Also, in terms of resing, the game should ALWAYS prioritize player targets over NPCs. Dont know how many times there has been pile up of bodies and having to keep canceling to get the player, not the dead NPCs.
IMO some of the best armor skins in GW2 are some of those in the gem store, the GW1 remakes.
Medium women’s armor is PLAGUED with coats… why is EVERYTHING some sort of a trench coat (ONLY exception is pvp leather)? Light female armor is nothing but skirts? At least heavy armor at least has some of the staples you expect, but isn’t as varied as what GW1 had.
As such, I gotta agree, MORE GW1 throwbacks would be very welcome additions. My picks for this (for the women):
Light – Tyrian Elementalist or Elite Rogue Mesmer
Medium – Vabbian Assassin (Zenmai edition), Asuran Assassin, or Drakescale Ranger
Heavy – Kurzick (NOT Elite) Warrior, Elite Sunspear, or Elite Canthan Warrior
The Krytan armor looks amazing in GW2, so I can imagine some of those listed above would be equally amazing in GW2.
