I just cleared the first zone as elementalist, level 17 now, and I gotta say, I’m a bit disappointed. I play d/d, and they have like nothing over warriors.
Warriors do higher damage, are much tankier, pretty sure they have more cc, heard their better for pvp, spvp and wvw.
Honestly, all I’m asking is, is there a point to play elementalist nowadays? If all they offer is support, I should have just picked guardian or something.
Two very different classes, but let me explain. I’ve played thief, very boring class imo (sorry, don’t mean to hurt feelings).
Warrior, I never got to level very far (got maybe to level 10?) was alright, but needed something besides a hack and slash animation.
Played necro, funnest class I worked with, but still not really up my alley.
Ranger I will not play. Absolutely not. I played ranger in a different mmo and completely ruined it for me. The bow animation will drive me insane.
Mesmer I’ve never played, sounds ’aight, find it weird that the clones do next to no damage.
Engineer was… meh.
TL;DR
I’ve played elementalist before, very fun class, heard it sucks in pvp, does it? If yes, i’ll go Guardian, if no, i’ll go Ele
I’m playing thief, like the whole teleporting, high-paced gameplay, but I hate how there’s no variety. Are all the classes in gw2 weapon-locked in combat? Like you can’t switch to change your skills in combat?
I just don’t want to go through the rest of the game using the same 5 skills.
Feel free to recommend another class too, looking for high damage decent survivability. Probably not going for elementalist cus they die too fast.
Looking for a high damage class with decent survivability. Want the class to have some level of skill involved, and not just “hit 1,2,3, repeat”.
Elementalist sounds the fastest to die. No escapes and low hp.
Mesmer and Thief have high mobility (sneak and teleport)
Necro sounds the tankiest, but also the weakest in terms of damage.
^^^^^^^ is that about right?
My main focus I’d think would be
1. WvW
2. PvE
3. PvP
