Guild Wars 2

Thanks, Lordkrall. I was interpreting it differently, but see your point of view, and it make sense. It seems the wording on it could be made more clear, though I know they have limited space to work with in the ach description.

I have all six of the boss blitz achievements marked as completed, but showing only 3/5 on the boss blitz meta achievement. Now what? Anyone else having related issues?

I’m fine with that. What is happening that should not be, is that, after a patch, some or all files in the “Guild Wars 2” directory are ending up with no permissions (i.e., no ACL, not even an inherited one). I’m pretty sure this is a bug and a security risk.

After most (all?) patches, starting the GW2 client prompts for admin password because some anet code has clobbered the ACL (security profile) for files in the “Guild Wars 2” directory. Why is the anet code (still) doing this, and when is that bug slated for fix? This is under Windows 7-64 bit.

FYI: you can repair this by making a copy of your “Guild Wars 2” folder right next to the original in the “\Program Files (x86)”, renaming your old folder to “Guild Wars 2 – bad”, then renaming your “Guild Wars 2 – Copy” to “Guild Wars 2”. Often, you won’t be able to delete the original Guild Wars 2 folder until after a reboot.
