bump for meee
Game would load the initial login backround but no text or anything other than the logo that is the backround for this. at the bottom i get 0 of 0 and no option to log in or “play”. tried an uninstall and reinstall. When i attempt to reinstall i download the launcher and that will download and then ask me for permission to make changes to my computer. I do say yes but then the “patcher” or “launcher” appears and then immediately dissapears and i am back to square one. i had made no changes to my computer that could have caused this. Anyone have any ideas?
Welcome bud! I myself just recently started playing and the few hints i can give you are as follows:
1. Explore everything, there is truly no reason to rush through this game and there are so many wonderful things to see everywhere. if you see something that looks cool in the distance i would encourage you to mosey on over and check er out.
2. Dont sweat the gear, you will make more than enough money to upgrade your weapon at least every five levels on the trading post
3. learn to work that trading post. Almost any green item after lvl 20 will sell for more on there than to a vendor and trust me it adds up.
4. Start your own guild for more bank space. As you can be in more guilds than one this is a great help when the crafting materials start stacking up.
5. participate in everything you can find. ultimately this is a mmorpg, dont forget the mmo part. and its very very easy to find someone while youre out and about that could use a few more whacks on whatever hes killing. Hell most players wont even mind if you tag along a bit since there is no penalty to anything from having more than one person.
6. It has been stated alot of places to try more than one class at least to lvl 20. I would strongly suggest this one to find what works for you.
7. dont get frustrated. Admittedly this one was hard for me in the beginning when i was still figuring out how to dodge attacks and such. Also some of the jumping puzzles can be a nightmare until you get the flow of them.
8. Above all have fun.
Hope this helps and welcome to what i have found to be a wonderful and friendly community of people that are really quite helpful. Also one i forgot to mention but it seems you already figured it out is to browse the forums at your leisure. Lotsa good info here as well as that same community i mentioned to give ya a shove in the right direction.
As a sidenote i wanted to sincerely thank everyone here on the forums for being more than helpful and i hope to see more of this wonderful and helpful community in game and in the future somewhere along the line. Cheers folks.
I cant thank you all enough for the ideas and info. Last night played an ele to around lvl 15 and had a ball and got used to using the new mechanics. i think that playing a squishy first def helped me to learn to dodge or pay the price. Then after I felt i had a pretty good feel I started a charr warrior. man what a difference, its a buttload of fun for sure and i do love the fact that I do not have to rely on anyone but myself to heal and stay alive plus the rifle skills are great! Not sure if the rifle is viable at higher lvls but for now its seriously fun. I think tonight I may try out guardian and engineer before settling on one class to lvl to the top.
Thanks for the suggestions. I played warlock most recently but i always did enjoy my shaman. I would love to have some gunplay be a part of my character. I am very intrigued by the necromancer and engineer professions. Anyone familiar with them? From reading forum posts i understand that necromancers and rangers are a bit underpowered ATM. Is this true at all?
Just purchased this game and cancelled my WoW account as it no longer held any interest for me (to be honest i think i lost interest after WotLK). Almost a sad day since i have been playing it since initial beta testing. Now i am at an impass. I do believe i want to play Charr but i cant really decide on a profession. Im sure whatever i choose the learning curve may kick me in the pants and i was wondering if there were any pointers i could get as far as trying to lessen my learning time and get up to speed quickly. Also what profession would you guys suggest as a ranged character and why? I thank you in advance for any and all input and i look forward to seeing you all in game.
