Turdley is my Charr. He does not have a surname because he is homeless, without a warband or a guild. He is good at pretty much nothing. If you absolutely had to label him something other than hobo, I guess he would be an Elementalist. He smells like a mix between burnt fur and grog, because of his lack of spell control and his affinity for….grog.

Look up the player ID of Logan…he posts in a lot of threads (“How do you make your gold?” being one of them). He was discussing some of his strategies and admitted to manipulating the silver doubloon market. He is throwing around about 3000 g in assets so its doable.

Not related but…kind of. I have seen you post other places. That link that the OP put down…that guy is in your guild. MERC. And seeing how you operate, I would not be surprised if that is you. Not saying its wrong or right, I find it really interesting as a Finance major which is why I follow these threads. I do not want to build capital in game, I play dungeons and that is about it. But I like seeing how people are doing it.

But anyways. I would put my money down that you know that guild wars guru guy, if it is not you yourself.

Those of you with so much capital that you are a market maker…why are you playing this game? You already have the best stuff and you spend your time in LA….why not do something in RL for money instead?

This. Some people, like myself, are pretty busy irl, so we don’t get much game time! Good thing about being a Finance grad is that I can apply basic market knowledge in game and make decent enough profit to not fall behind my friends/guildies that play so much haha

Finance grad myself. Well, actually in my senior year at the moment. I would never try it, but it would be interesting to see how some of these firms I interview with would react to me bringing in Guild Wars 2 data and displaying how I have successfully navigated the markets.

One thing you day traders are going to learn is that this market will experience a cycle, like all others. at some point you are not going to be able to sell your stuff at higher then you bought it, and there is no way to short sell at the TP. We are still experiencing price inflation in this game as more people reach level 80…the game is still relatively new. But it will peak. And you may get nailed.

Even if this sample size “is not big enough,” every test I have seen has said that MF does not make that big of a difference. And every test has people saying sample size not large enough. If that is the case…shouldn’t some of the tests say that it does make a difference? Instead of them all saying it does not?
