Yep ANET/Ncsoft are just milking off what’s left of the cow right now

How do you milk a free cow? There is no revenue stream to milk once someone has bought it and I guarantee sales aren’t compensating for a lack of a subscription model. It’s all gravy for the user at that point. I wish every game I paid the same for (or even more) gave me that kind of service.

I have nothing to add to this other than I am enjoying the Living Story after having been gone for several months after release. Life got busy so I never got to even experience level 80. I haven’t been around to experience what most have here so to me it’s fresh and fun to have something different going on every couple weeks.

Oh, I quit reading this kitten thread after the 50th “Kitten”….my f’ing lord what an annoying word that everyone uses for everything around here.

I agree. Having played every recommended spec and some of my own, the most enjoyable experience from a fun perspective (resulting in most successful for me) as a thief has been condition based builds particularly D/D even at early levels.

One thing I have found is that once you get comfortable with them that there really isn’t a wrong choice. You will see everyone recommend every possible combination because they simply all work if it fits your play-style. I started out using the GS and mace/shield second and have since used all possible combinations. My go-to set currently is Sword/Torch with Mace/Focus second. It works great for how I play. Start burning the crap out of piles of mobs, switch over (focus has a bleed on switch) blind or block set down some healing, switch back finish them off.

I switch weapons and utilities so much I’m almost OCD about it though. You can tailor pretty much every encounter with the right skills and weapons.
