what are u talking about bud?U can set in options to see team colours like red or blue or to see every individual colour armor, next time investigate first before u start attacking

You misunderstand my point. As I stated in the latter part of my post, I know team colors can be turned off. But they are, just like HoneyBoy clarifies, on by default- and this fact makes it uncertain if your efforts are ever shown. Most people probably go with the default settings, thus ruining your characters appearance.

Why have a dye system if you’re going to make everyone red and blue by default anyway? Let us show our colors Anet. It would feel so much more worth the effort, had team colors been removed or put away from the standard settings.

Guild Wars 2 is a game where dyes and clothing color are truly emphasised. Me and many others spend a lot of time and effort, gathering dyes to match with different outfits. But to what end? Is it worth it if you’re not sure wether the effort is concrete?

In the PvP battlegrounds everyone gets a chance to show off. You get to leave a mark in the most fierce of environments. I think that many would agree on the fact that the battleground is the place you’d want for your character to make an impression.

Team colors stand in the way of letting your personality show on the battlefield (!) Why would you need team colors? To see what team we’re on? Come on- we have colored name tags for that, and now also the mini-map player markers. Why put so much effort into a character customisation system when it’s not always utilised?

I know team colors can be turned off individually- but I want to know my effort is visible for everyone. Away with the pesky team colors!

Everything else is lovely.

Mesmer Downed Skill: Deception

I would just like to point out that I do not think that the Mesmer’s Deception skill, in terms of quality and functionality, isn’t complete yet. The thought behind the skill is great. It’s not just there yet. And I’m really surprised it’s already implemented, because regarding it’s current state, a lot of Mesmers out there would have benefited more from the previous downed skill: Teleport.

With all of it’s bugs, Deception is sometimes a nearly worthless skill and sometimes too useful a skill, being way to overpowered. You can’t have missed these obvious bugs, so it makes me wonder, are they hard to fix? In that case, maybe a finished skill like Teleport could be swapped in, in the meantime. Here’s a list :

-Using this skill underwater causes a permanent immobilization to the player. This bug actually causes you to die.

- In PvP, you’re in a corner and use this skill while someone is loading a stomp. You teleport in place and the stomp pulls off. This happens a lot, and makes the skill utterly useless. A solution would be give the player the option which direction to teleport, and make the vector target similar to that of a warrior’s leap attack. It would also help if the enemy would have his target deselected.

- In PvP, using this skill reduces the chance someone will help you up since the clone is a revivable target. If you desperately say “Here!”, everyone’s going to know, enemy and ally. If allies are around I tend to not use this skill, because they have no idea of which one to res. Even if you’re on skype with someone and asks them to help you, you constantly have to yell “No, no! I’m over here!” and your friend is like “Where?!”, and then youre like “Doesn’t matter, I’m dead now anyway”. Reviving that clone accomplishes nothing (!). If the healthbars somehow would be linked, or if reviving the clone also revives the player, then I can see the point of having it as a revivable target.

- In PvP, sometimes if you’re lucky, when using this skill you get teleported through objects and you’re completely concealed from the enemy’s field of sight. I mean, having spent time trying to kill the mesmer, and then this happens, it’s all been a waste for the enemy. I honestly don’t think it’s fair.

- In PvE against single mobs, this skill causes you to be more effective than if you were on your feet. Since the clone helps you stack up an immense amount of confusion, mobs deal more damage to themselves than to you. If downed against a mob with full health you can easily take it down. Is this how you want the downed system to work? Because this isn’t really the case over at my Elementalist, where it’s a real struggle against mobs with 20% health.

- Often you’re teleported into an obstacle and the camera suddenly looses its function. You can’t see anything, being unable to rotate the camera into a state where it allows you to see anything. Again, allowing the Mesmer to select which direction to teleport, this problem would be solved.

Thank you for reading. Please leave a comment if you feel the cap fits!

I really appreciate that you have addressed this issue in such a detailed and nicely penned text. I agree on every single point. How is this game to appeal to professional gamers if their precision is halted by a sloppy camera?
