I have a level 62 Necromancer, on the Stormbluff Isle overflow this afternoon when the event dropped. I was all in, cleared the schedule and was off to aid the demolition team. Except I never really got to play along, sure I could occasionally make it through to the event area (meeting death ever 3rd or 5th time trying to get there). I tried to help as much as I could with abilities at my disposal (well of suffering, blood is power, spectral wall) yet that wasn’t really being effective. So I figured I would just aid fallen players, yet that didn’t really help either as I would just join them regularly and end up spending a silver to start over (and another silver to repair). As a character currently in the process of leveling, I don’t have the finances to go through and I wasn’t getting any loot from any of this to recoup my losses.

Eventually I got so fed up with the whole thing (since the Karka respawns were winning ) that I just turned the game off and went about my mundane life of groceries and laundry.

While I didn’t expect anything free, I didn’t expect to be griefed either.

If you don’t care about profit why not sell for a small loss on the TP? You get the drops for free basically, so any money is good. I don’t understand your question/problem.

True. I think my problem is the golden rule thing you know, treat others how you’d like to be treated. I buy things off the market at Vendor + 20% so apparently I’m doing it wrong on that end too.

Seems my point has sailed over the heads of the audience here.

I don’t care about profit… as in I’m not looking to win vs other players here. I just look at my good but unusable to me vendor trash as something another player could actually use while leveling. If I can sell it for a silver to a vendor; then why won’t anyone buy it for a silver and fifteen copper from the TP? Any actual profit I make is based on the fact that it dropped for me. Can players buy these items cheaper than a Vender selling them?

Perhaps I am just looking at the trading post all wrong.

Instead of a system where I am inclined to list things at even a vendor price for other players. I am faced with a system that discourages me from putting up decent leveling gear somewhere anyone who could actually need it could get it.

Heck I’m not even looking for a profit on the TP anymore, I’d be happy getting vendor value for this trash and knowing it was going to a player who could use it.
