Guild Wars 2

I’m bumping this because I feel that it’s necessary. Before I started playing Guild Wars 2 I spent 4 years in another MMORPG. Through this game I made a lot of lasting friendships overseas, I really enjoyed playing with these people, the majourity of them were from the U.S. (I myself live in Sweden).
I was absolutely thrilled to find that guesting would be implemented, so we could play on any server we wanted without any problem, and still be able to play together. It was perfect! Then guesting was actually implemented and suddenly we can’t transfer between continents.

I have played on a North American server before the guesting system was put in place, because a friend of mine in Asia played on said server. Now I’m back on European servers, and I can’t play with any of my friends in America. This is really frustrating, and I feel that it limits the potential of the community.

The Guild Wars 2 forums are international as far as I can tell, and the fanbase exists all over the world, so how come we can’t guest between servers? I can still pay to transfer, but I really don’t feel that it’s fair to force me to cough up money each time I want to play with my friends.

You can pay with cash by going to any of your local retailers that sell the gem cards.

I may be wrong, but I’m quite sure that we don’t have those in Sweden, and even if we do, I highly doubt we do in the tiny city of roughly 30.000 people which I live in.
Purchasing online is much simpler, and personally I feel that having as many options available as possible is a good thing.

Most online games I’ve played in the past usually include mobile payment as well as credit card transfers, PayPal and/or MoneyBookers.

I’d absolutely love to be able to purchase gems by other means than credit card and PayPal. The problem with PayPal for me is that I have to wait several days for the transaction to fully complete, it’d be much nicer if we could transfer the money directly from our bank accounts, or perhaps through a servuce such as MoneyBookers.
I’d rather not sign up for a credit card just so I can use PayPal instantly, whilst with MoneyBookers direct wiretransfers is no problem.

Grovecastle.
All my human characters have the surname Grovecastle.
My real surname, Lundborg, is a knight’s name, somewhere along my bloodline someone was knighted, and that name was passed on for generations.
I rather resented my surname, since no one outside of Sweden can pronounce it correctly, and most Swedish people get it wrong (e.g. Lundberg instead of Lundborg).
Since I’ve wanted to move to a different country ever since I was little, I figured I might as well change my name. So I translated my surname, and the result was Grovecastle, which sounds really spiffy.

Thawe Grovecastle is my Elementalist.
I have a few other human characters but I can’t recall their names at the moment.
