Finally, our class is not defined from a single weapon or a single build. We have lots of them, i like and use them all. Everyone of us has her preference, of course, but sticking with an outdated build because “it worked well and i want it back” is not constructive for our class at all.
Amen bro. Glad to hear some positive news on this forum. I play quite similarly to you and i use GS/Hammer as my 2 weapons. I confirm this setup works.
I run a variation of the crit hammer build. I call it the Crithander! GS/Hammer.
It works splendidly.
10 Zeal/25 Radiance/30 Honor/5 Virtues
Works well with Shouts, Consecrations, Spirit Weapons OR Signets. So I have alot of flexibility.
Occasionally I put the points from zeal in valour and virtues.
I bought my AC Greatsword AFTER the patch.
We took a nerf with the Symbol damage, and I agree Anet didn’t fix the Retal by nerfing our symbol.
However, GS is still very strong (It was in my opinion too strong before the nerf). It’s my go to weapon together with Hammer for dungeons. My playstyle is never boring and never static. I dont feel like I’m autoattacking all the time like some posters claimed. The 5s shorter blind/leap is very nice.
People that are complaining in general, i think, tend not to weapon swap. That’s what I feel. And in any case, do you guys realize just how powerful the GS autoattack is for groups? 1 stack of might for EACH enemy hit on the 3rd combo hit.
Are we weaker compared to before the patch? Yes.
Are we weak compared to other classes? Hell NO.
I use GS/Hammer exclusively in dungeons and I have no problem staying alive or dealing damage. These 2 weapons complement each other very well for dungeons.
The rare times I’m downed, the group’s kill rate drops significantly. Bear in mind we already have significant DPS, but more importantly when we are alive, properly traited, we make the whole group so much stronger.
I second that. Bow of Truth needs to be targeted. Would make it so much better.
