In my opinion if you are more into smaller scale fights you should consider lower tier servers like t5 down to t8. I would say theres a decent amount of activity in every server based on your particular interests and knowledge of wvw. The one thing I would recommend is regardless of if you transfer or not you should consider joining a wvw based guild. At least for me it really changed the way I played the game and what I thought about wvw.
When I first started playing, I thought wvw was the best game mode ever made. After a while, I became more and more irritated with the game mode following a ppt oriented commander just wasn’t exciting you focus more on doors than fights. I preferred small scale group fights roaming, and havoc squads so once I joined a guild that catered to that interest, suddenly wvw became a gamemode I always look forward to logging on to day after day.

When I did play I had a small squad of guildmates that did exactly what you were talking about. About a dozen of us or so would run around and supporting the zerg ball by doing other objectives.. Lots of fun.

But since that was a long time ago, My guild is gone and well Maguuma was never really strong WvW. Unless things have changed I think now is a perfect time to find a new server to start basically over (well almost)

Ive been gone for nearly a year now and decided to revisit the game. I’m posting this here because I’m looking to transfer servers to an active WvW server. My question is which server would be a good choice?

I live in western Canada so it will have to be NA based.

Also kind of a side question, how much has changed since the Halloween event last year?

Problem: Gate closed, quest chain broken.

Its been this way for a very long time now. The only times the dungeon actually works is after a server reset. I personally find it very annoying that you have catered to the people complaining about chest drops for the Halloween event before fixing major bugs such as this. It makes me wonder about your priorities.

Nobody knows for sure except Devs but my guess would be no. It seems like you need to finish act 1 in order to start act 2 by what the NPC says.

Im going to assume that all content will be available right till the 5th. That way even if you start on the 4th you wont miss out (except for the stuff people are farming)

Im sorry but Info was posted in multiple places before the event, LA had a big circle and NPCs marked not only on the map but also on the UI. Anet did maybe not a great job but a far better job then most other MMO’s. Personally, I thought it was pretty obvious before things started that events would be held mostly in LA.

As far as not knowing what to do, you need to pay more attention to NPCs dialogue. Clearly you skipped through everything just trying to get handouts. Me and my guild cleared the scavenger hunt within the first couple hours as well as some of the other stuff and just explore. Im sure there will be more events so if you insist on complaining at least wait till its over.

Ahem, it’s cosmetic. They don’t cost anything. You choose to spend money. Or time. Or not. You can get stuff together and finish next year. Many options. They are not all instant gratification options. Maturity needs to be applied.

Enjoy the free to play game content, and work towards cosmetics if you choose. There are 6 silver weapons to use if you want to have “fun”. They last for 4 hours.

LOL pretty much sums it up. Its so funny how someone gets a rare item then automatically everyone wants one and all the sudden its the most important thing in the world.

People they are RARE items, not some party gift thats waiting for you in the mail. If everyone got them then none of you would even care. When was the last time you thought to yourself, Man im really glad I got a free celebration hat…

From now on I hope Anet just decorates LA and thats it. no special items or pets just some simple decor… maybe then people will stop complaining (lol like thats possible)

Agree with you all the Ref. I was about to post in one of the complaining threads, but its pointless. Gamers now-a-days have such self entitlement its not even funny. They basically think everything should be handed on a silver platter. The best part is that we are not even 24 hours into a week long event and all i read is how they aren’t getting more free stuff or about how bad the drops are from BLC.

I had lots of fun logging in with my guild and just enjoying the atmosphere and small events. I’ll leave the rare items to the people that want to spend money or massive amounts of gold.

I turned into a giant candy corn for the costume brawl … got crazy amount hits with the ground stomp… I pretty much instantly won since everyone was so clustered together.

I think we are talking about the same thing.

Theres a shield, Staff and a shortbow sold near mystic forge in LA. Each piece is soulbound on acquire and cost 150 candy corns.

I think you have to break a certain DPS mark maybe? I tried it out around the same level too but got there late. There were a few people saying they got nothing (just like me) and a few saying they got a chest + xp

Not sure exactly how it works. I did notice that there were alot of people attacking at the time so it might only give the bonus to maybe the top 15 dps’ers or something.

Listen to Balkito. Warriors are prob one of the most versatile classes in the game. If you get bored with a Warrior, just uninstall now.

For high burst you have 2H swords, dual axes and rifle spec. CC/Support? 2H hammers, war horns, dual maces. High sustained dots? Bleed builds with 1H swords …

So many options and each one is perfectly viable in sPvP. Personally I believe 2H swords to be one of the worst possible specs for warriors and easily countered… but to each their own.

Not sure if this is working as intended or not but thought I should mention it.

Basically I had Pet Management tab up and would swap Pig out for Boar and vice-versa on the same slot. This would refresh the cooldown on their F2 ability and allow me to gather alot of healing items via the Pigs F2.

The only way it worked was out of combat.
