Can I use a Dpad / ps3 / xbox style control ?

I love the game but currently have serious back and right arm problems.
Using a mouse causes me pain and discomfort.

Can I use a Dpad style game control for moving around the game. I can use that with my left hand and still use the keys with my right hand.

Is this allowed ?
Any software suggestions for making this work?

NO I am not trying to exploit anything !

Same Problem. PC reboots during character creation.
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT. using latest driver.
I can play with no problems with the 2 Characters I managed to make, but now I can’t make a 3rd.
