I don’t think a windows rollback will help, because it just rollsback installations, windows system files etc. afaik.
Since GW2 thinks, there is something corrupt in this one large file called gw2.dat, and restore points doesn’t affect those files, this won’t unfortunately not help.
But the idea is not too bad, because I frequently do full backups of my ssd drive, where GW2 is installed on.
Possibly I will try to restore a whole backup. Or even better: Get an older uncorrupted version of gw2.dat and replace the corrupted one. Then patch.

Man this is really annoying… in my opinion, it’s impossible, that the whole game archive gets corrupted. The log files say, there are just some files/parts in the archive corrupted. I think the launcher is not working as intended here. Bad work, arenanet!

My advice for you all: Backup your perfectly working gw2.dat file! Just for the worst case!

Hi guys,
my game crashes some times since early access, say once a day.
That’s annoying but not a big problem.
Sometimes the game has to verify the game archive. This takes some minutes, but is also ok. I skipped that one or two times recently.

Now today the game crashed, said: file corrupted, have to check archive.
Then a new window popped up, a progress bar raised while checking my files, and afterwards the launcher window started to download the whole game again.
The launcher wants to download all 214k files again. This is nearly 15-20GB. And I have a 4MBit/s DSL connection.

My Game folder still has a file called gw2.dat, which has 14,4 GB. so I wonder why the launcher wants to download everything again.
Is there a way to suppress that? THIS is really annoying, because I wanted to play this evening/night, u know. And now I have to wait for the launcher finishing this nonsense download. Furthermore I didn’t get a game DVD, so I’m unable to reinstall from disc to accelerate this progress.

Please help me to interrupt the complete reload of Guild Wars 2. Not everything can be currupted.
