I tried downloading some ping plotter software only to find out it doesn’t run under windows 10. Go figure.
Anyway thank you for the reply, I’ll keep looking into it.
Yes, I know it’s Christmas Eve and everyone has time off, so they are playing Guild Wars 2. I can imagine your servers are smoking from the load.
However, I never in my life thought I would see a ping of 3,608. I can fall all the way to the bottom in HoT and not deploy my glider!
It’s made the game unplayable. I check back in a few days, I suppose, but I would really rather be playing.
I think that the present method of listing server load. Accounts with characters on the server, active and inactive, is misleading and dishonest.
We need to move inactive accounts to a dummy server, allowing them to chose an active server if they return to the game.
Listing server load by actual accounts currently logged on will give players more options regarding play time, etc.
Server Lag is getting worse making world events and other game components requiring multiple players unworkable. This makes me think that Arena Net is reducing hardware to save money as the player base erodes. Wouldn’t it be smarter to consolidate the servers allowing active players to enjoy the game more?
I’m wondering how Server Population is calculated? Is it how many people are playing on that server, or how many accounts have characters created on that server, active and inactive?
I’m on Crystal Desert, which shows Very High, yet I don’t see this in game. WvW is woefully under represented. I see high level characters running dailies and monthlies in low level zones because the higher level zones are nearly empty. People are now offering to pay gold to anyone who will run a dungeon with them.
What I see is a dying game.
From the insane difficulty levels of the Storyline Missions to the constant Nerfs of skills it seem that the fun has even been taken out of dis$%^ctional.
Is it time to admit this game to ICU and talk about server consolidation?
I’m having this issue too. Since this has been ongoing for about a year, on and off, I question whether or not it is Guild Wars 2 or Windows 7. I don’t have this problem running any other program.
One thing that comes to mind is this… Remember EverQuest and EverQuest 2. They would poll your computer periodically to see what programs you were running in the back ground. Anti-Virus and Fire Walls view this as an attack and shut down/reset the internet connection as a precaution. This is what caused “Zone Death” in EQ and EQ2.
So here is my question. Is Arena Net, in its war against Bots, scanning our computers and networks to see what we have running.
This would explain the disconnects, and why they aren’t going away.
