Help me build The Order of the Unorthodox

I’m dissatisfied with my current guild and so I’m creating one of my own. PvX of course, with WvW being on Fort Aspenwood. The guild should be laid back yet active, and while thats the goal of many guilds, I want to proactively chase the “active” part by creating events regularly. I’ve always wanted to be able to do weird things with this game like have a group of theives in wvw or run PvP with all minion masters, no its not exactly ideal but sure is fun as hell. Regular dungeon runs and all will of course be in there too (how could it not?)

But i need officers willing to get involved and build it with me, and that’s where this guild will differ from so many. So often I’ve seen guilds where nothing goes on, even if people are online. Guilds with a small core group of members but the majority may as well not exist. I’m tired of this. I need officers that are as tired of this as me and want to make fun things happen, not just wait around for them, and members who want to get in on those fun things, participate, and be a community instead of a list of players.

Teamspeak is a given, though not set up currently (just waiting until I have some people to use it). If this all sounds like something that interests you, shoot me a message in game! We can always talk about it more if you have questions, or if you’d like to jump in and play a bit to get to know me then that’s great too. I’m going to make this happen, help me the community you want to play with!

Well in gw1 you needed at least 2 monks, so without monks 5 is a pretty good fit for groups. That being said, I do think that would be an awesome thing to add to the game. It would help add to the end game content, make it super hard as it should be. Unfortunately I don’t think they will do it, as much as I loved UW and FoW, it doesn’t fit the lore. The god’s left Tyria and UW/FoW were the domains of Grenth and Balthazaar

stun breakers and condition removal are very useful if you’re trying to get away. Personally i use a focus so i can speed myself up and cripple anyone else who follows through, blink is very useful and breaks stuns but you need to know when to use it, using blink at the wrong times can get you killed. decoy is also very good, distracts alot of people, and is also a stun breaker. if you have both you can use decoy to distract them with your clone, turn invisible, and blink away.

Sometimes there’s just too many of them, you can get a way from a couple, but another one comes up on you. try to recognize fights you cant win and dont get too close.

WvW is horrible...

you can control how many people will appear on screen, dumb it down to nameplates and it’ll run like it used to, but you’ll still be able to attack everything. Won’t show everybody, but it didn’t used to. If you want to run nice graphics and see everything and everybody, you need better specs on your computer, like in any game

Zerging is too profitable.

You can’t penalize people for being in a larger group, its counter to the design philosophy. You also can’t outright give smaller groups bonuses to be stronger against a larger force; its simply unfair. If i have 20 people and you have 5, you should not beat us unless you are godly.

However, I do think a nice subtle way to help promote small groups without bashing on zergs would be to make groups of a certain size (maybe 30?) visible on the map to opponents. When too many people congregate in the area, the enemy would be able to see the large groups and either rally against them or easily avoid them, and would promote the smaller groups which could move around somewhat undetected. At the same time, this wouldn’t be taking any raw power away from the larger armies. Just an idea, what do you think?

Fairly regularly, the game will just randomly freeze and stop responding, or close and say there was an error and ask me if I want to report it to Arena.net, but I can’t figure out why. I’ve reinstalled multiple times, and I thought I wouldnt have this issue anymore since yesterday I completely reinstalled windows and all my drivers, and guild wars of course, and its crashed twice already this morning. It is making me not want to play. Any help?

dual nvidia GTX 560 Ti in SLI mode

so clearly its not a matter of my computer not being good enough
