I play on a server that is a lower tier WvW server. I could have changed servers to a higher tier if I wanted. I did not.
I enjoy the lower tier server for several reasons:
1. It’s almost never full, i.e., no waiting to play in a queue.
2. A smaller group is capable of greater accomplishments.
3. There is a smaller number of people playing, so making friends is easier.
4. Our competitors were also smaller groups most of the time, so the battles were more fair, less complex and easier to see.
Now that we are thrown in with higher tier servers in a combined server team, all of that is lost. Additionally, we are allies with another server for a while, then we become their enemies. I hate that. We have lost our identity as well.
With the new rewards system we have to wait in a queue to play during prime time. Although a larger allowable map population would solve this, I would prefer it if servers would no longer be combined into teams.
