Interestingly, the match where no points were taken away we had a full team. I have no idea why but I am guessing it had something to do with the matchup being less than “fair”.
I’m not asking for an easy ride. Like you, all I want are fair, fun matches.
Edit: I’m also extremely curious as to why I’m losing more points on losses, especially ones where it’s clear the fight is one-sided and not on wins that are close or blow outs.
You’re seeing it “working as intended”. People have parsed the numbers and found that the “algorithm” they use places the higher MMR folks together against the lower ones. It’s absurd.
Also, the “good” players like to play off peak hours so they use that top heavy matchmaking in their favor. Keep that in mind when you queue up. We need to accept that Anet doesn’t care or isn’t willing to address the concerns (for whatever reason) and frustration of the players.
Yet, the devs are on top of players with permanent dishonor, making sure they get their rewards for “winning” while those legitimate problems go unanswered.
Expect to see people jumping into this thread telling you to l2p, defending the devs, etc. There is a CLEAR problem and we are receiving ZERO communication about whether they are even looking into it.
Yup. One less customer and one less PvP player in an already shallow pool.
All right, cool. Sounds like nothing will get fixed and therefore I won’t be buying the expac or spending any money on any of their IAP.
Maybe mounts are intended for PvP. Perhaps these huge zones are going to be PvP enabled for a good match of hide and seek. I certainly don’t know, and I would hazard a guess you don’t either.
I get being frustrated by lack of communication here, but we need to keep providing feedback if we want anything to change.
Edit: I’m just looking for some info on whether they are even looking into it. I added thoughts on top of my initial query.
Specifically conditions and stacking. I’m not sure about you, but I find it hard to enjoy a match when it takes less than two seconds for a player, at full health, to be downed and killed.
Everyone is essentially boxed in to particular metas because of how absurdly powerful they are. Right now that meta is “CC then destroy with conditions/burst damage”. I can deal with people slinging insults and giving me instructions on how to uninstall your game, but I’m having a hard time dealing with how absurdly imbalanced PvP is.
Are there any plans, pre- or post-expansion launch, to address the combat issues? Do you plan on addressing or experimenting with condition stacking?
I know PvE content also suffers from this in various ways.
My decision to purchase your next expansion, or any future content, will depend on whether the combat system undergoes an overhaul to correct the problematic systems currently in place.
I don’t need complete balance; I just want more strategic and varied fights.
Thanks for reading.
PS. Another thought: new structured PvP modes. Things like Last Man Standing, 3v3v3, Capture the Flag, and Mission Based goals (such as one group defends a lore-based location while another group, aided by a champion or some such, tries to break in/destroy it). I’m sure there are issues with these I haven’t foreseen, but as of right now I can’t say I find PvP fun.
The boss, both the Ice Elemental and Armored Dredge, will “fixate” on all 5 players and then freeze, not moving or doing anything. The boss is still kill-able, but will take considerable time if you’re not lucky enough to have him freeze beneath a fire cauldron.
We reset by dying the 1st time and there was no change other than his life refilled. We exited and then tried to enter again. The second time we got the Ice Elemental boss and the same thing happened; all 5 of us got a diamond over our heads and the “boss is fixated on you” message. The Ice Ele just stood there and took his beating.
After placing the kegs, each starts a 2 minute timer that will despawn kegs if they haven’t been eaten by the Great Cobalt Jungle Wurm. Unfortunately, this also extends to them IF they are eaten as well.
So if the wurm consumes the kegs at 13:20, at 11:20 it will begin despawning any kegs that have been put down. This makes Cobalt Wurm incredibly more difficult than the straightforward Amber and Crimson Wurms.
I believe this is an unintended bug. However, if this IS a mechanic for Cobalt (would appreciate confirmation if so), can we get an indicator, like Amber has with “Upset Stomach” to better coordinate?
Thank you.
I found all the items to complete the Mistward Gloves on my Guardian. I placed the gloves in my bank so I could put them on my Revenant character. Every time I tried to log into my Revenant the game client crashed. I could log into my other characters just fine.
I removed the Mistward Gloves (again, on my Guardian) and could log in on my Revenant once again.
