i feel discouraged

I’m pretty new to gw2 but not to MMOs. There’s something called FOTM or flavor of the month which is usually an overtuned or overpowered class/spec that everyone seems to sheep to and if your class feels undertuned compared to that or out of the meta it’s easy to complain and feel discouraged because you re too busy worrying about what you don’t have instead of adapting and making what you do have work. Thing is you could flock to what’s op FOTM but next month things may change and it may be someone else’s turn to be overtuned. Believe it or not there’s a lot of people who will swap classes based on relevance – that’s just how they enjoy the game and that’s fine but they are usually the number one culprits for complaining

Good players are going to be good at their class and magnify what they can do with it because they know it well and have done the theory crafting it takes to make things work throughout both ups and downs. It’s frustrating sometimes sure but updates and changes are part of the game sometimes

From a newbie to you my suggestion is to find the professions you enjoy the most and stick with it and learn to be the best at that profession as you can be. For a lot of MMO players that’s the game right there. Growing with your character and being stronger as a player as you level and help your character get stronger as well in game.

Thanks guys I will continue to do everything on my Mesmer then and not worry about it so much on my warrior.

I’m probably going to do everything I can on the base game before buying the expansion and getting a boost. Thanks for your help.

I mean I think someone was telling me legendaries and other stuff are gated behind 100%ing all of the maps? Is it something most people do on every character or just once or twice?

Hey so I bought gw2 like 2-3+ years ago and never got past 30. Came back recently and have leveled my Mesmer up into the 40s, but I had birthday boosters up to level 20 so I made a warrior too. On my Mesmer I’ve been 100%ing maps the entire time I think I’ve only jumped in a dungeon once. My question is mainly: am I going to have to 100% everything on every character or can I do It on my Mesmer and just level my warrior other ways? What kind of effect is that going to have on my warrior if I decide to main that instead of my Mesmer in the future?

I went to file a ticket and I guess they are working on the problem. Nothing we can do but wait for them to fix it.
