that and you can’t salvage the items for the runes. i i tried on the slippers and its blocked. so if you want them for the runes just craft them.

ive heard of people getting other pieces from chests in the labyrinth but im not sure.. the slippers i got had meh stats and were using the duelist model…. like wtf lol

so has anyone figured out where all ten events are for the “Halloween events completed” achievement. im at 9/10 and i cant figure out what i missed lol. done the clock tower all areas in the mad realm and all the pages. just confused lol. seeing if anyone else is like me.

also if anyone has a link to a page that shows the carving pumpkin locations that would help alot as well

im so confused. so the mad king event is set for sunday or what and wth is the 1 time event. it would suck to build all these acts up and have everyone excited about the final fight for halloween and surprise… you did all this work all week just to find out you missed the BIG FIGHT…

also… if you miss the one time event are you screwed for the rest of the stuff or can you still participate

saw this as well in malchor’s leap while farming ori nodes.. thought i could run through and grab the candy corn, but i started getting mobbed down and those kitten brambles crippled me forever. and to my surprise as i finish “mining” i was actually cutting down the stupid tree lol. long story short i got destroyed by mobs with trying to get a sugar fix and got tricked instead of treated hahahahaha

criticism fixes problems. staying quite does not. so don’t try to silence the constructive criticism.

considering the majority of mmo players are the “gimme now” crowd it makes sense why there are a lot of people complaining. but if you take it into context this event is intended to be a FUN event with a touch of lore to it. and if you played GW1 it ties together their previous holiday events. i’m actually having a good time in the event because I’m looking at it in a positive light. if you have a negative crowd there will be negative comments in the just of it.

well in the adds that have been released before the patch they showed a big spooky clock tower thats the one i was wondering about.. but thanks for the info on the others

lol ill be running the event tonight considering i haven’t been on since the first hour of the halloween launch…. and that time was spent in costume brawl

does anyone have an idea of where this is or possible when it will appear. I’m quite the addict to jumping puzzles and achievements..

Any alt that’s lower than 30 might have a problem with getting the last item for the “quest”.

i have done the research on the last page and i do understand it will be a pain in the neck but if its worth it in the end why not lol… maybe it is time to do some serious grind to level my toons.. been needing an excuse to bump all their levels.

doooood calm down it is only the first act and its nice that there is a transmutable book for a back piece. considering the only other visible back piece is a ugly backpack with a guild emblem pasted on it lol… have some respect for a positive thread and a genuine question

would be very nice to hear a statement regarding this… have been scouring through the forums looking for an answer to this. wanted to let the zerg of trick or treaters on my server to run-through it so i can casually achieve pages.. pretty frustrating to have to fight through a mob to get the items

I’m curious to see an answer to this as well… considering i have only 1 lvl 80 and all my other toons are in different stages of leveling ranging from lvl 14-40. so it would be nice to know if it is worth trying to run through all the areas to get the pages.

yes i remember that youtube nonsense and of course the community has an adverse affect on the game and companies. that is why I’m will to “bet” the dev team and PR are franticly working to fix this before they lose all the support they worked so hard to get in the first place. i am also upset that i didn’t get anything but i know i was taking a risk and i have only myself to blame. i’m not on here trying to get my money back or demand compensation, i’m just trying to talk some sense into people that aren’t being realistic of the time constraints of developing a fix and writing an official response to the community.

and yes it was a mistake on my part to point out the worst of the posts. i do apologize for that. but in general this whole thing is based off of less than 24 hours of the patch. things will be fixed and things will not. only time will tell what is going to happen..

I’ll give you the benefit in saying that the majority of the grievers are just doing it because they found it out or think it is funny.

my main concern is that the outcry for a reward for spending a certain amount of money or gold that was spent on a chance at an item is ludicrous. the community is upset yes and in my more recent post i stated that i presume that the devs and PR team may be coming up with a “fix” for this.

it is too soon to tell whether or not they are just trying to make a quick buck or were oblivious. something is going to happen soon and it is too soon to make judgements on the Anet and Ncsoft team.

the level of premature behavior in this game astounds me lol.. i guess the old saying “do unto others as you want done to you” doesn’t fly in the great divide of the internet lol.

I’ve played plenty of free to play games with a cash shop that sold packs that dropped rare stuff at a really low rate. Like REALLY low. It ranged from .01%-.03%. It’s like 50 bucks for a 100 or something. I’ve opened over 7000 of these packs and didn’t get a single rare item lol (on a private server of course). Barely anyone complained because they knew the risks. If you’ve opened 5 black lion chests and didn’t get anything don’t you think that either the rate is low or you’re unlucky? At what point do you realize “oh gee the rate is low” yet some people continue to open 10, then 15 then 20 then 30 packs :/. That’s called stupidity or addiction.

Furthermore from a business standpoint, if ANET were to make the drop rate 100% then they would definitely not be making good profit. It also makes these rare drops from these chests more ‘rare’. Hey it gives you something to work for right? Weren’t people complaining about the longevity of the game? Go farm gold or something and get more keys. If you got everything right away you’d run out of things to do and gosh i do not want to see anymore of those threads lol.

I have the same opinion the only reason why I’m “complaining about the complainers” is because it is now spilling out of the forum into the game, resulting in grievers bugging out events and making it almost impossible for anyone to enjoy the other parts of the event. yes it sucks you spent money and got nothing but that is the way of gambling. Anet may or may not “fix” the unrest but it hasn’t even been 24 hours into the event. they haven’t had nearly enough time to try and fix anything. I’m presuming their PR team is working on a statement to the community and also trying to figure out how they are going to fix the mess. if something is jacked up, you can’t fix it on the spot. there are steps to fix and prevent the problem from happening. now lets just sit back and see what Anet decides to do.. they may surprise us with what they have to say and what they are going to do to fix this.

well if you have read any of the post that has 800+ replies. the general consensus is that the devs took advantage of their addiction to gambling and they prayed on the weak. and now the ones that are “spitting venom” are now in game using exploits to block other players from enjoying the other 90% of the event. the BLC were just a small fraction of the event and now we can’t enjoy the rest.

i support the constructive criticism, but i do not support the whining and the people that claim to be victimized. if you are upset, conduct your unrest with logical and conclusive explanations. not this unrelenting banter about being scammed and abused by a system that YOU have the choice to use. You are responsible for your own actions not the developers of the game.

no-one forced your hand in spending cash. there is an option to buy gems with gold. if you burned through your gold (such as i did) and resorted to buying with cash that is your choice not the devs. i stopped when i dropped my account gold down to 50silver and decided if i didn’t get one by then i wouldn’t get one. i haven’t spent cash and i understand the disappointment, but seriously if you spent cash you only have yourself to blame.

good point.. as of last night for me that is what they are doing.. as of today i haven’t been online so they may be using other exploits.

they are using the costumes to fear/ knock back people from getting the npc.. pretty annoying

but the fact is that people aren’t giving constructive criticism. they are whining and moaning they they didn’t get anything. and saying that Anet prayed on their weaknesses. if it were more constructive than their wouldn’t be so much civil unrest in the community.

Anet did not keep the odds hidden, they told the community in their post that there would be a chance at getting items from the chests. “a chance” automatically makes it a gambling mechanic and the community decided that they were not going to accept they were gambling in the first place. that is their own fault. you don’t walk up to a casino or a liquor store to buy a lottery ticket and see the odds of winning clearly stated in bold words. your gambling and you know you are gambling. and everyone is kitten that they wasted all their money QQ. you made the choice and its time to face the consequences..

the OP has a valid point though.. Anet clearly stated that there would be a chance to get said object from the chest. they did not say that opening so many chests will give you better odds. if you gamble in any situation you are going to have to suffer the consequences or profit from them. the same gambling principle was already in the game with the mystic forge. people were not complaining nearly as much if they took a bunch of items and threw them in the forge and didn’t get squat back. if they spent IRL caskittens i understand why they are mad but Anet didn’t force their hand in buying gems. and on the note of players are supporting Anet in spending their own money. more power to them but even if noone paid IRL cash the game would still go on none the less.

gambling is gambling. end of story.

@teknomancer ya i thought about doing the same but i took the other route and bought 5 stacks of black lion chests expecting the price for them to go up but again i mis judged the market and now I’m screwed lol. spent about 2 gold expected to make triple my money back but now it looks like I’m going to lose out considering the price for the chests are plummeting. I’m going to hang on to the chests til the end of the event to see if they fix the chest drop chance then maybe i won’t lose as much

ya its really not worth all the gold and irl cash to open chests considering the gem market price has sky rocketed since the patch… say you spend 20 gold to get 1000 gems and buy keys you have a unreasonable chance to get a weapon skin from the chests… or you can take that same 20 gold and just buy the skin from the TP..

I wasted 10g on gems last night and I’m kicking myself in the a## because i could have used that to buy one of TP.. I’m a poor casual player and i thought i would get lucky.. not going to fall for this trickery again…

ya im going the same route and it looks like the superior run of ranger is a good one but im trying to do more research to find a more viable build… im mixing power toughness vitality on my gear and the runes are going to have the critical damage and precision.. not too sure how it will work though lol…..
