We’re based in the Seafarer’s Rest server, freshly made guild looking for fun members to run dungeons, do PvP, WvW, hunt World Events, learn the game and explore tyria =)

We have no restrictions, except we’re looking for fun and friendly members.

I agree, i think all the sellers ruin the experience. I think it’s wrong selling runsand would like an Anet response to this knowing if its ok or not, if not woots keeping me and my guild from occupying a Sparkfly Fen server and Sell Teq runs and Taxi over for gold? It’s wrong. But it IS abusing the LFG tool since all you see there is Sell Arah for 25g… Please Anet say something on the matter to clear the waters and settle this once and for all.

Well when that idiot arrives be sure to remind him that it’s not a learn to play issue; rather it’s to learn and adjust to lousy design. I’ve been using the sword almost exclusively for over the past 6 months and while I know how to use it, it’s a weapon that cripples the Ranger (ingame with the lack of dodging and irl due to carpal tunnel syndrome if you do l2p.)

Guess said idiot just steped in the thread….. and ye Anet should definitly sort the sword 1 out… at least put a range on it like under 500 units it doesn’t jump hence no lock… over 500 units it does the leap. problem solved

not much a ranger question but a more general one, when will two handed weapons have slots for to sigils? or if that is even an option?

i rly think this is bullcrap… is the purpose to drive the Ranger class to the ground? Nerfing SB is supposed to make LB acceptable?!… in all this kitty litter they could AT LEAST just give the Torment Condition to Rangers too imo :/

i’m with Tuluum, a whip should be good, they also have the ele lightning animation. Would love to see boomerangs also =P

thank you all =) atm i’m at the 1500 condi dmg, where should i alocate the excess Cond Dmg? to Cond duration or power?

Like the title says, is there a condition damage cap? Or a level that just makes it lower in the priority list? (ex: at 1000 condition duration is more profitable to put extra bonuses to condition duration/power/crit etc.) Thank you in advance =)

Sry Faux not trying to deviate atentions but would like some of your (all) input in the build i’ve posted in the build thread, any help tweaking it/making it more viable/finding flaws/saying why it sucks would be much apreciated.

Weapons

*Shortbow
– I like the shortbow, made this build with shortbow has main weapon in mind; i just spam nº1 skill has an offense, the rest is just situational/defensive.

*Sword & Torch/Dagger
– I love the sword so i mixed a few builds around so i could get a good use out of it, i like the might it gives to the pet (Skill nº1), the evasion and the leap. Used primarily the dagger has an offhand for the extra dodge and the cripple ranged but found myself preferring the torch for the burning and the combo field fire; and since i run a heavy condition build the more on target the merrier, and for me fire>poison.

Skills

*Heal- I prefer the Healing Spring for the condition remove, but Troll’s Ungeant works great also.

*Quickening Zephyr- I like it for the “nuking” potencial, i tend to use it when i pop Rampage as One or whenever is out of cooldown, and with the Sword and Dagger combo the quickness makes you be all over the place.

*Signet of the Hunt- I like it for the bonus speed, nut now it’s even better, i pop it before since the pet stays with the buff for quite a while and pretty much pop it whenever its up in combat.

*Signet of the Wild- Only for the passive, never ever use this, it isn’t huge but it helps you and your pet.

*Alternatives- Spike Trap, I use it has an alternative to QZ (Quickening Zephyr) for the bonus bleed and cripple; use it to quite around people and keep a decent distance if needed.

*Entangle- I prefer using Entangle has the Elite, mostly for the Immobilize even if for just a second, if more better then it stacks bleed, and it’s great for escapes if you need. The alternative is Rampage as One it’s great if your pet lives long enough and with the QZ the might stacks quite fast then activate the Signet of the Hunt and your pet should do a boatload of damage, the sprint is nice to persue/flee.

I use 20/20/30/0/0

*Marksmanship
I use 20 points in the Marks trait mainly for the bow. The 10 I chose the Keen Edge (@75% health use Sharpening Stone), a good alternative is the Signet Master (-20%CD on Signets) but since i only activate the Signet of the Hunt i like the bleeds better. For the 20 i chose Piercing Arrows, why? MOAR ARROWS 4 EVRYONE! It’s a must for running bow imo.

*Survival
The 20 in Survival are for more condition dmg and bow buffing, and the passives are quite nice too (sprint and fury on weapon swap). The 10 i chose the Sharpened Edges (chance to apply bleed on crits), more bleeds is allways good has a condi ranger. At the 20 i went for the Quick Draw (-20% bow activating skills) again the more arrow allways better, no one is left out. Haven’t played with alternatives here but for those that like axes there might be something there for you.

*Wilderness Survival
The bulk of the build, with Toughness and Condition Damage, the first and second passives are great imo, more dodging and each dodging giving 2secs of Protection (-33%inc dmg) is not to be discarted lightly. For the 10 I opted for the Wilderness Knowledge (-20%CD on Survival Skills, so QZ and Entangle are faster) but pretty much every other option is good just fit it to your playstyle. At 20 i chose the Off-Hand Training (-20%CD and + Range on Offhand weapons (Torch/Dagger)) other options that come with the 20 points unlock are pretty crappy imo, maybe a few in the first tier would be good here, but i like this quite alot. Has for the 30 it’s the same philosophy, i chose the Martial Mastery (-20%CD on Swords Abilities), the alternatives are ok, pet pulling conditions from you (might get ur pet killed faster :/) and Barkskin (-30% dmg taken while at <25% HP)

Has for gear you can see in the link i opted for Rabid (Precision/Toughness/Condition Damage) on pretty much everything, because of the runes i chose with are the Undead (+183Cond Dmg; +50 Toughness; and 5% Toughness to Condi Dmg). Why did i went this way? Pretty much cause my healing power isn’t that great so i decided to make my HP be worth more with Toughness, wich my build already brings me by the dozen, so might aswell take it.

Sorry if it is to long, it’s my first try at this. Oh and i did no math whatsoever to verify it. It’s just how i run around, any input and math stuff are very welcome =) or have a more decent ranger try it out and pick up flaws. Thank you for Reading and the previous builds.

I don’t know if i missunderstood how the new chest system works but think it works like this: My lvl 80 can do Shadow Behemoth, and i receive the normal large chest with what it may contain, and a bouncy chest with the guaranteed daily rare. If i re-do the Shadow Behemoth i’d only get the large chest right?
Because if i understood correctly then it’s bugged for that i have killed Shadow Behemoth and Jungle Worm a second time and no large chest was there waiting for me did it happened to anyone else or did i just missunderstood the mechanic?

Yea i know that, but i feel people will still guest to the server that has the World Bosses spawning at the time that’s more fit for them. But ye let’s see if that does help, ty for the reply.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but i find this to be an issue with the game.

I find extremely intrusive and abusive when an area on my serv is over populated with guesting players, i get that they have the right and i agree with that, but they guest over our serv just because in theirs the boss isn’t up, thus making us guest (wich i don’t i just sigh and wait for another opportunity) on another serv and so on and so forth making it a big snow ball.
This was just to expose my problem with the state of guesting right now, no flaming pls =)
Has a result i thought of a solution, hoping it could help devs mitigate the excess of guesting, so my idea was to make native player of that server to have preference on staying on their Frostgorge Sound, and move the guests to the overflow. And if the map area is filled with guests, they move to the overflow to make space for the natives.

well ye…. but we want an ingame tool for that… i don’t want to alt tab so i can go to a site to make a group…

I think a LFG tool is much needed nowadays, but it has to be thought through carefully, I’d make it more simplier than what OP said.

Making it like an automatic suggestion list (cross server, don’t think it’s hard) with a little “Curriculum” of the players with lvl class and a snapshot of the items like WoW’s armory but lightier, no comparison to the game itself. And you just choose the partners you want and ready you are, i say.

If you are too slow choosing and checking you might get picked yourself, and if so the “suggested” tab turns into the group invite tab. Same info from above but only for the group that invited you.
