Yea, or a broadcast option for the MOTD. That would help with announcements. We do have active forums, but not everyone uses them regularly.

ANet, it would be incredible if we could have the option to have a Guild Note system akin to what WoW has, where we can right click on a person’s name and set a note stating who they are, alt or main status…etc. That would be great. Please.

My Problem with Explorable Mode

TL;DR version at the bottom of the post.

Lastnight, myself and 4 other guildies decided it was time to tackle Caudecus Manor’s explorable mode. We chose to help the Asura, as none of us had done the explorable mode for CM before. The fun ensued, and we wiped to trash a few times, ran around corners too quickly at times, and eventually got to the first boss – Sure Shot Seamus. Wiping commenced as most of us tend to face pull rather than strategize, and we still had a blast…up until we killed the guy (after about 20 minutes). No chest, no sweet drops from the boss. No problem. Maybe there was a chest at the end of the dungeon, or the last boss drops some amazing loot.
A few more trash mobs and we were at the next boss…again had a lot of fun strategizing how to get inside the room past the boss to kill all the extra adds. Problem solved, boss killed…again no chest or cool rewards other than the Seals of Beetletun. We were a little bummed, as the amount of time spent in CM so far was adding up quickly, and this boss was a pushover. Seamus seemed crazy hard in his small room, long hallway (that would quickly bug him out if he was pulled too far away) and much more challenging than the second boss (Gunpowder Morgan I believe).
Moving on…we came to a few rooms full of trash pulls that were fun to figure out how to pull and work together to get past. On to the next boss, Bloody Victoria. She was a bit harder than the last boss, not as hard as Seamus, but a very fun fight. A great need to be mobile and try as much as possible to remove conditions throughout the fight. Downed, and again…no chest or great loot, just more seals. Ok, maybe this is the way it is going to be for explorable modes, and maybe the boss at the end will have some great stuff.
Into the next area, there was a crapton of trash pulls that were awesome to get past, very challenging and rewarding once we made it past them all to the very last boss – Frost. A challenging fight in which Frost slows the group for almost 100% of the fight, activates Golems for players to kill and channels a hard hitting Frost beam type spell. Think of his gun as a Frostthrower instead of a Flamethrower. Fun was had, boss downed after some laughs and dying…and again…no chest. More seals – which we are all excited for to get the gear…but no great piece of loot, heck no piece of mediocre loot. I am pretty sure one of our Guildmates got a white drop off of one of the bosses.
So, all that to say…I absolutely love how crazy the dungeon gets at times. Pulls become chaotic if we aren’t precise and calculated in our coordination, bosses one shot you if you don’t dodge at the right time (which we all love the difficulty), however, I felt we spent a ton of time in the Explorable Mode of CM with very little reward to show for it. I understand it was our first time through, and we will improve and learn new strategies and it will take less time, but that still doesn’t change the fact that we had very little to show for our run other than the Seals. I am in no way asking for incredible crazy awesome loot from every boss, or chests at the end of every fight, as I think that would get redundant and old very quickly. I am not sure how to suggest a fix…maybe just a chest at the end? I know I absolutely love opening chests no matter what is inside. I think 25 seals for a full run is a reasonable amount, maybe a bit low, but I also don’t have a ton of time to play and it will take me a while to farm those. Hoping to get some feedback from ANet on this, but please no ‘’QQ moar for no loot’’ posts, as I am not asking for crazy drops and more loot.

TL;DR:

To sum up the article in a question, is this what was intended for Explorable Modes? A large time sink solely purposed to reward the Seals/Tokens? If so, closed case in my book. Just curious, as my group and I felt accomplished with completing the instance, but a bit disappointed at the lack of rewards.

Or should we start getting coordinated now? I played WvWvW lastnight for a few hours, and we were on top last I checked so there had to be some coordination. My guild has about 40 members, and would be interested in joining an Alliance for WvWvW purposes or starting one. We are all 18+, and come with previous PvP experience in most major MMO’s (WoW, RIFT, SW:ToR, GW1). Guild name is The Dragonscarred, and most of us have gamed together for the last 4-5 years.

Any thoughts?
