Pure White [pW]

My point is, we lost PRX – who were apparently the best guild on our server – losing a few MERC guys isn’t going to be anywhere near as big of a hit…
Wow you’re comparing MERC with PRX? Well I’m honored by such a comparison and MERC is no where near the level of PRX atm.
Doesn’t solve the problem that we need to play well into the night after everyone else has gone to sleep.
Are you serious?… Read what i’m saying…
PRX is completely gone, and they were a powerful force on our server, and it made little to no difference to the outcome of SoS. MERC is nothing compared to that. So you DON’T need to be playing in order for SoS to stay on top.
That isn’t a problem, or a requirement. You have got screws loose in your head (your real life head, not your characters head, make the distinction) if you are genuinely feeling this way.

Not really intended to be offensive, just kind of how it is. You can’t boast 1300 members, when less than 100 are active. That’s less than 10% of a guild.
I’m not sure how you’ve come to that conclusion, but I never do the jumping puzzle… I know a few guys like to do it after our official runs end, but that’s it…
There may be a few MERC guys running around at all hours of the day, but that does not equal organised coverage.
My point is, we lost PRX – who were apparently the best guild on our server – losing a few MERC guys isn’t going to be anywhere near as big of a hit…
Take some time off, WvW is going to be pretty crappy until at least February..
I can’t believe this thread is actually happening…
Jedahs, you’re the leader of MERC, a “1300 member” guild, yet I barely see you guys during prime time. You were absent from the game for like a month, and guess what, everything was fine! Just leave the game alone if it’s making you feel like you’re going to die, it won’t matter.
PRX left the server, and look, we’re still doing fine. They were about 100 times better than your guild.
You are not important, you are not Sea of Sorrows, you’re just one guy.
The “progress bar” should focus more on WvW specific events, such as capping camps/towers/keeps, escorting/killing dolyaks etc. Individual kills should be the lowest of rewards (to encourage bigger fights, as opposed to solo players)
Hey, there is already a few threads up suggesting the same thing, see: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/WvWvW-Daily-Monthly/first#post910302
WvW is similar to PvP, but at the same time, worlds apart.
It really needs it’s own section, to encourage people wanting to complete the daily/monthly, to actually participate in the gameplay.
WvW should have it’s own daily/monthly section, the same as PvE and PvP do. Replace WvW kills in PvE with running a couple of dungeons or something?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/WvWvW-Daily-Monthly/first#post897304
This thread was up an hour or so before this one, but keep both active! More publicity can only be a good thing!
One for PvE, one for sPvP and one for WvW, would be better in my opinion
See: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/WvWvW-Daily-Monthly/first#post897304
This thread was up before that one, but thanks anyway for the link!
I really hope that the Christmas patch brings in something for WvW. I fear for the health of it if nothing is done.
Completely forgot that dyes were available in the gem store! Makes sense now, and I doubt that it will get changed at all!
I did search, didn’t find anything pertaining to account bound.
I can understand that… I’m just not entirely sure how badly the market would die (pun not intended) if they were to be account bound
I play a few different characters, yet one of my characters has a LOT of dyes unlocked, including some colours I’d like to use on other characters (like making a steampunk themed asura)
I don’t really understand why dyes aren’t account bound? I don’t see how, with 500+ dyes to unlock it would kill the market of them THAT badly…
Is there something i’m missing? Does anyone else want the same?
While I really like the concept of Thieves having rifles, if your ideas on the abilities were implemented it would be crazy overpowered. The rifle would become the go-to power/crit weapon of choice.
It shouldn’t be able to stealth. Nor should it be able to shadowstep to a target (shadowstep away could work)
I like the vulnerability, and dazes, but a knockdown as well is a bit too much. Perhaps give it a knockback, and a blind – to keep it on the same level as pistol abilities (as it is still a gun)
6. could be a black powder blast. Where it shoots a low-mid range damage shot, that explodes on impact in an aoe leaving a blind field akin to black powder.
Instead of the shadowstep, and the barrage, maybe something similar to how hard to catch works. Shoot a few shots off and shadowstep away.
Great ideas though, but definitely needs some more thorough and comprehensive thought.
Raise initiative costs by 1 across the board.
So recently we had the PvP Daily/Monthly achievements added into the game. I feel they were a terrific addition, but what about a WvW Daily/Monthly?
It would encourage people to get more engaged in WvW on a much larger scale.
It creates incentives to participate more than just once a week or casually.
Rewards could simply be silver/karma/badges/siege for daily, and for monthly, the same but maybe even throw in a unique appearance exotic piece of gear? Or just silver/karma/badges/siege.
It isn’t about that at all, Beefcake. It’s about incentives and rewards for playing the part of the game you enjoy doing most… In sPvP there’s something to work towards. In tPvP there’s something to work towards. In PvE there’s something to work towards. There isn’t anything substantial to work towards in WvW.
Each Season new Ascended (or better) gear with unique looks which are easily identifiable should be released.
OR BETTER, being the keyword.
Actually, he used what the most successful MMO in history has done to keep it’s players active and involved for 7+ years as an example for something that could be done to keep parts of GW2 just as appealing. However done in a way that it is keeping true to GW2’s level playing field, the gear could be for aesthetics only – keeping up with the latest Ascended releases.
Hey OP. I normally try to be polite and considerate when I use this forum but this time It’s not worth it.
Loads of people are loving GW2 WvW.
If you’re not one of them and you prefer WoW go back to WoW, don’t try and ruin this game.
There’s like 15 MMO’s out there with gear treadmills already, some of us are staying on this game because it doesn’t have the gear treadmill you can find everywhere else in MMO’s
It’s the same old “reward the veterans, kitten the new guys” mentality that SW:ToR has and we know how that is going.
We are a part of those “loads” loving WvW. But we also recognise that it has a LOT of room for improvement. The gear rewards are not to give people an advantage. As it stands now, someone who ONLY does WvW is going to be at a disadvantage to someone who does PvE, so how does that create imbalance biased towards those who do more WvW?
For an example, at the time of this post the only Ascended gear you can obtain is the back and rings. So if, for example, we were in the season system, the season’s rewards would be Ascended back and rings (perhaps the back being the aesthetic piece, to show ‘this guy participated in season X’.

I’m going to assume that you enjoy, even love, WvW like we do here. Now this assumption may be wrong, but we’re going to go with it for now.
Seasons: Do you remember that feeling you got when you logged on and your server had moved up a tier? You thinking “YES! We fricken did it!” Well, what happens when you plateau in a tier? You sit in the same tier week in and week out, like SBI and JQ have for a while now… Reset the ratings (not entirely, maybe top 3 tiers get shuffled) and you create a new, level playing field. It discourages server hopping, encourages loyalty to your server, and promotes the continued efforts of people wanting to feel awesome about what they helped accomplish.
Gear: I’m guessing by that statement, you haven’t experience higher level WvW gameplay. I’m sure anyone from the top 3 tiers of WvW can attest to the fact that it isn’t about bigger zerg = best server. It’s actually about strategy and application of tactics. The gear obtainable in WvW would ONLY EVER be the same level as gear obtained in PvE – as in, if you didn’t like dungeons or pve, you could do WvW and still have competitive gear. Dungeon gear has it’s own unique look, you can tell by looking at someone – “hey this guy has done X dungeon”. Why not give seasons of gear, all aesthetically different to say “hey, this guy did will in X season”
Titles: Your idea of “stupid and pointless” is something that can’t be seen by others? For a start – titles CAN be seen by others. They’re subtle, cosmetic additions that give you a sense of completion. Something to work towards – much like the sPvP titles. You look at someone with a “Gladiator” or “Mercenary” title, and you know they’re going to be a tougher 1v1 than someone with no title. So give titles to people who actively WvW, so you can look at the guy who has the title “Realm Gladiator” or whatever, and know he is active and has done a certain amount of WvW.
Ranks: There are NO legendaries obtained ONLY through WvW?… This is a way to reward and provide a seperate “style” of gameplay. You can get your PvE legendaries, or you can get your WvW legendaries – both being valid options. The rank system is a way to again, reward people for being more active, give incentives to people who like WvW to play more WvW and make the entire community stronger for it.
Bugs: … Do you even play the same game? Rendering issues. Glitching through doors/walls. Rendering issues. Certain professions skills don’t work as intended. Rendering issues.

The gear COULD be aesthetic only, however giving the slight upgrades – which would be like getting Ascended gear out of PvE – would be just that extra bit of incentive. The requirements for obtaining the gear wouldn’t be easy, since it’s not easy to get Ascended gear in PvE. Perhaps more easily obtained exotics, with (same looking) ascended version as well? Similar to how there’s rares and exotics currently.
The reset and shuffle is more about resetting the playing field. Giving other servers in lower tiers an opportunity to rise up! Basically, there’s nothing more rewarding (currently) than moving up a tier in WvW. This would make that happen more than just once!
Posted in Suggestion Forum too – keep it bumped, give it attention if you agree with any of this!
I 100% agree with all of the suggestions/ideas proposed here. Numbers obviously being subject to change, I can’t see any rational argument as to why this is a bad idea, or anything less than a positive change to the state of WvW.
PvE, sPvP and tPvP all have incentives to continue to do it. WvW is it’s own bracket, it’s own game in side GW2. It should also have incentives to keep it popular.
