This sounds like a pretty solid idea. I crushed through the content 100% legit with absolutely no exploits and earned my Dungeon Master title through it. And not even but a few months its replaced by a RNG gear system that is just a grind fest. While I can appreciate the idea of FotM it’s totally over shadowed the previous dungeons. And I think they are all decent dungeons and Arah is by far one of the best dungeons I have ever experienced and thoroughly enjoy what each path has to offer, but most of all Giganticus Lupis. I hope to encounter more fights like that one.
However back on point. I don’t think the answer to give hardcore players like myself more goals to work for should completely negate previous achievements especially so soon. Guild Wars 2 is based off the idea that gear is a factor but isn’t a huge one and I have put that through the test. I have taken several groups completely naked through AC, TA, SE, CoE and early on before some things were fixed/nerfed. I would hate to see things become a gear grind for better stats, when this game has much more to offer than the run of the mill grind.
Which is what makes this a good idea, you don’t just cast away your achievements you enhance them, as well give crafting professions a bit more luster as they have all significantly fallen aside from the people going after specific custom skins and legendaries.
