First of all it might not have become clear but in the seasons from my first topic there would only be teams against teams so you would not be able to soloQ against a team. However the soloQ is a really important topic because that’s what a new pvp player will do. The problem with soloQ is it would not be possible to make an Tournament at the end of the season for these players other than a 1v1 tournament (maybe that’s something to consider but I am not sure about this).
It’s also important for this whole thing to happen to make the Math behind the leaderboards more consistent because at the moment you drop to fast at the leaderboard. An example: I played Tournaments whit some friends, one of these was something about rank 650 we played 10 matches total lost 2 of them but because of these 2 loses he lost so many places that he was no longer in the leaderboards. ArenaNet stated already that they are working on this I think, so we will see what happens here.
I’ve also realized that ArenaNet needs to make money from pvp so how about this:
- All Players are able to purchase a Season Team Ticket which gives them a Notation whenever their favorite team is about to play a match (they would have to select this) they then can directly join into this game as spectator. The authorized shoutcaster’s also getting a notation so they can cast the matches live. Again this has to be in game.
- All Players are able to purchase a Season Ticket which is the same as the Team Ticket but for all games
- All Players are able to purchase Ticket only for the final Tournament (this is already included in the both options above)
- All Players are able to purchase a bet license. This allows them to bet pvp/pve items an gold on teams to win certain matches or the tournament ( also a possible gold sink to get Gold or other items out of the economy because of fees an stuff)
Technical issues
I am not quite sure if the in game spectate and schoutcast would be possible to do. I think it could be possible because of how the spectator mode look at the moment but there has to be a reason why we have a limited amount of spectator’s in one arena right now. It would also be crucial as a spectator to see the schoucasters point of view along whit his commentary to be able to follow the match especially for newer players.

Hi everyone,
So I thought about how every sports game has his season of some sort tide with leaderboards. My suggestion is to implement an team season like system into GuildWars 2 along with in game leaderboards and new Armor sets for each season which you can only obtain by winning ranked season games. At the end of a season the best 16 or so teams should be participating in a Tourney against each other which everyone! Can watch in game! ( maybe also shoutcastet in game see DOTA2) The winners of this Tourney should get a stature or something like that in Lionsarch for everyone to see. You could also make a second ladder in which the more armature players cane participate so the pro teams would rush through this ladder or not even get placed in it and the amateur scene has also something to work for of course this would imply also a Tournament for this ladder.
What this would do is bring new players into PvP due to exclusive Armor and Weapon sets ( of course you should be able to ware these outside of the Mist) an give the Pro teams something to represent themselves in the top of the leaderboards.
It should be possible to have more than 5 players register for one team that way it’s possible for guild teams to participate as well. A Team is register under a name and should have an Rating as this particular team. On how to create the rating in the first place I also have some ideas I could also write them down if you want to.
So then discuss I’m really interested in your feedback.
P.S.: English is not my native language so please be gentle
