I tried the last step and it worked for me:
1. Go to the GW2 shortcut properties
2. Add behind the file location: -assetsrv
Example: GW2.exe" -assetsrv
3. Fill in an Asset IP from this list http://gw2status.de/
4. Patch!
5.Stuck at downloading 1 file? Try removing the assetsrv argument or change it to something else (I used: assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com) <— Thanks /u/howellq
