The hearts give you options which is nice, you are not locked in to one thing. Go kill ten rats, smash rat nests, look a someone funny, or use this charzooka to melt a portrait of my grandmother.
Though I see your point, but there are not many dynamic events like that.

I have killed Four Major world bosses now, 3 Dragons and that thing inside of the Volcano. What I don’t like is that you track how many Drakes I have killed for an Achievement, but not things that matter like world bosses. Perhaps you don’t want people to know how many world bosses there are, which is fine then make the achievement hidden unto you down the boss.
