Karaoke night was amazing! If you weren’t there then you really missed out on some epically fun times. The night started off with an acoustic guitar rendition of R. Kelly’s remix to ignition and ended with a server sing-a-long of bohemian rhapsody….

Last night we got a little.. alright, a lot silly – sang/made it through a couple of hours of karaoke & then came to… honestly I have no idea what BL we were on at this point all I know is that we were all naked (someone decided boots were ok) and tossing down flamerams like it was our job. I’m sorry if you guys that those were all catas, we actually only tossed down one cata in the forest of rams.

Hey there! Ladies night is totally still a thing, we had one run by the lovely Ana a couple of weekends ago.

After this weekends SoS Back to School “We Don’t Need No Education” Karaoke Extravaganza (imagine this being said by one of those crazy announcer voices), I will get on top of organizing the next big ladies night. If there are currently any SEA oceanic guilds considering a transfer to SoS, there are massive oppotunities for your guild here to expand and grow. We have a massive militia population for the oceanic and SEA timezones and many of them are looking for WvW focused guilds pm in game or on forums if you’re interested in learning more.

To add to what Rooster is saying, everyone says we have a lot of people on during SEA prime-time, but we have no WvW focused guilds during this timeslot. If you are a small to medium sized guild that operates at this time, you will find a lot of eager people who will want to work with you and are desperate for a solid group to rally around.

To be a tad redundant and add to what both these lovely fellas have said – if you play during EU/sever morning time & have a small guild there is plenty to keep you busy on SoS.

I was off work for the week & had a blast tagging up in the morning. Me, a cup of coffee & friends I usually only get to hang out with on weekend mornings made for some good times. People are more than happy to help flip SoS to whatever color we happen to be that week, and then work on defense. There are not a ton on at that time, but the quality of those playing way out weighs the quantity. Having a couple more small organized groups/tags would do wonders for our sea/eu time slots!

Honestly, I know it’s beyond cliché but on weeks where we are going to be outnumbered letting go of ppt and finding the fights makes it more enjoyable. It’s hard to do. We got all our stuff back this morning on SoS & then everyone took a break to do RL stuff (you know important stuff like lay in the sun & have a brewskie) and by the time I came back we were getting golem rushed by DB. Didn’t help that our wp bugged out and never upgraded.

Did it break my heart when we lost our whole map after hours of hard work this morning? Yes. Did I say some not nice things in the general direction of DB? Of course. But honestly, it was such a fun morning coordinating & hanging out with people in TS that in the end you gotta just dust it off your shoulders and move on. Too easy to get all worked up about it.

I’m looking forward to some fun fights tonight! And we have had really great ones throughout the week already, including one in CD Briar w/BANE & vH against CD & DB on… Saturday?

TLDR: It does stink that we don’t have even numbers but such is the way wvw seems to be going. All we can do is make the best of what’s around…. or just do what we do on SoS and #BlameSlim2013

Sorry for the delayed response! I’ll just reiterate what the rest of have said – it would be nice to have a couple more NA guilds, as well as a Sea guild, to party with.

We are working on a new (possible bi-weekly) community event, more details to come soon

If you are interested in what our community has to offer, feel free to listen in on one of our weekly meetings (Friday’s at 5pm pst/server time). Any of the server reps listed in the opening post would be happy to chat with you over some fire whiskey or a nice yak tonic.

So for ladies night we went out and got some yak tinctures & hylek potions. After hydrating in LA at the mystic forge we decided to escort one of our cousins, Horace, from Godsword to Cliffside. Along our journey we ran into some friendly wild creatures from [Corp] (and a lone onlooker from [Pink]). We discussed our favorite places to forage, enjoyed the wind flowing through our respective furs/wings, and then unfortunately ran into some hostiles. Luckily cousin Horace made it into Cliffside safely.

I think its safe to say that ORL is a WvW guild, we have practice nights just about every weekday as long as Drogan is free. Also we usually have 80% of our members in WvW at any given time. This is just my personal opinion

Maybe most of them fell in love with Jar Jar Binks? You know, like “Yousa bombah 2v1 Wesa. Mesa thinks this unfair!”. That can do stuff to your mind. Whereas most of us here are Wookie fans, we only speak in a highly encoded language like “Raawwwwrrrr rawawarawararawwwrrr” (Translation: Awesome fights FA & SoS).

Had some fun this morning protecting the homeland Running my kitten everywhere due to cd & sbi camp teams. This 30 seconds before swords pop bizness has me map watching like crazy…. and probably looking like a chicken with my head cut off being all – sentry down by fog, wait swords at faith – kitten, get to Titan! Ahhhhhh >.< My sylvari should really be running the Vancouver marathon tomorrow.

I have really enjoyed fighting SBI & CD these past few weeks. Our crew usually hangs in the BL, I hardly ever visit eb (except the other day as my Yak alter ego – that was a blast!! Yaks almost took SM! Almost…. lol). It is a breath of fresh air to be able to participate in smaller 5-8 man fights, and has really brought the fun back into the game for me. All we need now is jello or foam to up the anty!

I’m a little sad hockey playoffs are starting tonight because it seems like I always miss the [Fear] crew during the week! Hoping to run into y’all this weekend, and by that I mean with my fist! Mwhahahahaha!

We will be waiting! Although my wife and I will be out of town Saturday afternoon, maybe we’ll run into one other Saturday night or Sunday.

Sea of Sorrows has traveled a long road up to this point. We’ve had multiple matches with close calls as we climbed the WvW ladder to the very top rung. And then we fell right back down again. To no less than precisely where we began.

Six months has changed a lot. New tactics, new experiences and new faces – not least from now being able to see who you are actually fighting half the time. Through it all, Sea of Sorrows has found new resolve, stronger and bolder than ever before. You may have struck us down, but because of that we have become more powerful than you could have ever imagined.

Yes, that is correct. We have embraced the idea that WvW is actually supposed to be enjoyable, not just a second occupation. Long gone are the days of needing to stay on for another two hours because you’re behind on ppt and you have that coverage gap. Roll on the days when you spend another four hours in there anyway just because it was actually good fun and the “I’ll go to bed after we flip this next tower” strategy just didn’t work.

Sea of Sorrows has even embraced those which other “communinty-focused” worlds pushed to the side: Those who are inclined to PvE, those indecisive PvX folk, and even the rare and endanged PvP species. They are ALL welcome into our community. We do not believe in “All calls” or “gear checks” anymore. We have created a community that is accepting to any and all players.

It is because of this community foundation, that we are doing quite well in T4. So whats the problem then? Well, we’re doing a little bit too well. Realistically, we’re facing a situation where, at best, we are going to bounce between T3 and T4 – being too strong for one, but not strong enough for the other. At worst, we just end up with rather lengthy stays in T3. We don’t really mind winning or not, but if we’re going to be thrust up a tier, we’d at least like to be competitive to ensure an enjoyable fight between the worlds.

We would like to field more active WvWers across all prime-times (NA, SEA and EU); ideally bringing in guilds who enjoy all aspects of GW2 and are happy to support the server community. We would like to be cautious here, taking on smaller numbers in known coverage gaps, perhaps underestimating the numbers that we might require to create a balanced tier, but we consider underestimating how many are required to create a competitive match more favorable than bringing in too many. In our eyes a competitive match isn’t being able to win in every timezone, it’s each world having their own strength(s) and being able to avoid being completely dominated outside of that. We are not necessarily aiming to win.

We are also in no particular rush. We would prefer that interested players and guilds take the time to get to know our community and be sure that we’re the right world for them to call home.

For some specifics, here is what we have to offer

+ Community website (gw2sos.com) with an active event calendar. All guilds are welcome to post events!
+ Weekly WvW meetings to discuss strategy
+ General Community Meetings held every other week
+ Strong Oceanic base (we truly still do have the best Oceanics out there!)
+ Lack of Laggy Zergs! (And Queues)!
+ Active cooperation between guilds!
+ High Value for Small Ops!
+ Strong PvE community (both NA & SEA) – Working on Legendary? Come grind with us! Need a temple open? Our PvE Commanders open temples on a regular basis to help people get their karma gear.
+ Multiple guilds on SoS work together weekly to do t3 bounties – meaning guilds who are smaller, or more WvW focused can still get in on the action without needing to do much organizing themselves!
+ Most of all – a family type community where people help each other and reach across the boundaries of guilds to all players in SoS.
