I love so many things about the game, and I’ve played these games for almost 20 years now. However, I am mostly a PVE solo player and I have found that progressing into the higher level areas is tedious in the extreme. I understand that you can level up almost anywhere, if I wanted to I could just hang out in the lower level lands, but this becomes boring and repetitious. I have leveled an elementalist to 80, and several other classes to 30 and above, so I have given the game a fair chance I believe.
I have found that upper level lands are very unfriendly to the solo player. Sometimes it’s great fun to join in with a group doing an event but I don’t like to depend on others to play a game all the time, and I don’t think it should be necessary to have someone with me when I’m exploring the map. I’ve played for many hours in the past month and what I’ve noticed is that the lands for levels 25 and above are nearly deserted, while the 1 – 25 area’s seem to have the bulk of the players. I honestly expected the player base to be better by now, but perhaps I haven’t given the game enough time. I’m not a great player but I’m not bad. However I have found the game to be frustrating past a certain point and am going to take a break from it for a bit in hopes that when I check in again it will be a little more player friendly. I’m not adverse to a challenge but I don’t want to come away from playing a game stressed out and unhappy, my goal in these games is just the opposite.
