Just guested over to Seafarer’s Rest, it’s now contested again
As awesome as it would be to be able to get 1g a day more doing WvW, I don’t see this happening I’m sorry. You can already do the PvE daily in WvW, so having a 2nd lot of daily achievements would just annoy the PvE-ers.
They put in the post that you can eventually unlock everything, so it’s not a case of what should I get and what to avoid getting, it’s going to be how you want to progress. Like I prefer cannons to ballistae, so I’ll be getting cannons up faster then that.
It looks to me like you get one of these points per world rank. If you look at the photo they’ve shown, it looks like the first 3 options (Guard Killer, Defence Against Guards and Mercenary’s Bane) all cost the same to update. It looks like for those 3, it costs 1 point for the first rank, 2 for the second, 3 for the third and so on. It seems to show that they’ve spent 3 point in guard killer, 1 in defence against guards and 10 points in mercenary’s bane. 14 points in total for these 3. A total guess here, but the siege bunker build could start at 2 points, then 4, then 6 and so on, which would mean they’ve spent 6 points into it in total from the picture, so 20 points in total. They’re rank 27 and have 6 points spare, which to me looks like 1 point per rank, starting at rank 1 with 0 points.
This is just an educated guess, but that’s how I think that works We’ll see if I’m right when the update hits
WvW is a lot better then it used to be.
Orbs meant that when one team rolled over everyone and picked up the orbs, they were over-powered. Giving the people who are in the lead a massive advantage makes the other teams not want to play, which makes things worse.
The culling is significantly less since launch, and they’re getting better and better at removing it completely, give them time.
With the whole white swords issue, you can use it to your advantage. All this means is that stray Necro minions, Ele Elementals etc. won’t randomly hit a centaur or skale and trigger crossed swords, which would then alert the enemy server to your zerg’s location. It makes setting up and then attacking more strategic, which is awesome.
Consumables destroyed WvW. Why should you have an advantage because you ran around in PvE against people who only WvW? No matter how you look at them, they aren’t fair and shouldn’t be used at all, no matter what they are!
Siege ruined the jumping puzzles. One team would just camp with siege and they were practically untouchable. Is it fun to do a puzzle and get owned by siege, when you just want to get to the end? No. No it’s not.
To be fair though, I was a fan of how Ride The Lightning worked before, but oh well. Can’t have everything eh?
I honestly feel that WvW has taken a giant leap in the right direction, and I’m very VERY excited about this next update!
Same thing is happening on Ring of Fire server. Can’t get the events to complete. Will try normal doors if a dev has said there’s a 1 in 10 chance of it turning into a portal.
I’m also in Ring of Fire and the event looks like it’s stuck. In Queensdale there are 2 events that spawn one after the other, then re-start from the beginning in and endless cycle. Can’t remember what they’re called, but the one event is to the west of the way into Divinity’s Reach and the other’s to the east before the Graveyard.
On the wiki it says that after these 2 events, a 3rd happens and then you get the pumpkin doors to go into the Mad King’s realm, but we’re not getting the 3rd event in Ring of fire server.
