sadly thats what guildwars 2 is all about, temporary content to keep the current players amused. Major flaw to this idea but thats seems to be the road anets sticking with.
I’ve noticed. And like I said, while that does suck, at the bare minimum, ANet, please make it so that the important lore and story stuff aren’t raid-dependant, so that everyone can enjoy it at least once during the month in which the Living Story stuff is happening. I’m not saying to not continue to do Raid stuff, they ARE awesome of course, just stop making them mandatory to continue in the story. That’s the minimum I’m asking here.
Of course, the best thing would be for an expansion or an update on the Personal Story, just so that at least the fight against the dragons can be enjoyed by all, even new players or those who create new characters. But, the paragraph above, that’s the minimum I’m asking of ANet…
I do like the Living Story but, please, when things are really relevant to the evolving story, don’t make it a ‘’forced raid’‘. Like last time, the whole ’’having to destroy the three golems simultaneously’’ raid mission in order to enter the instance… Well, whenever I was on my server would rather aim at achievement (like killing one golem in, I think it was 5 minutes? (which they failed to do anyway)) than actually trying to destroy the three golems. So I never actually got to fight Scarlet and experience things first-hand!
That didn’t bother me that much when I thought the Living Story was just a thing on the side, dealing with ‘’the threat of Scarlet’‘, but now she woke up a dragon, and I’ve heard that the fight against the 5 other dragons might end up being Living Story, too, not expansions or at the very least Story Mode updates… Which is already bad enought; very important story stuff shouldn’t be temporary! But, please, at the very least, don’t make it Raid stuff so that individuals who are interested in experiencing it can do so without depending on a server who care more about loot and achievements than helping out those individuals. You can, and should, still make raid stuff, sure, but, please, make it ‘’on the side’’, so people who want to do raid stuff for loot and achievements can do so, and people who want to experience the story can do so as well, without any interference on each other.
Even better would be to allow you to sell them in the Trading Post. More casual players like myself have a real pain getting Dragonite Ore and Empyreal Star…
Dude, at first I felt like that. Then I realized that, even to get all the Ascended just for my Main, it would be a pain! So I’m sticking with Exotic! If I get enought materials to make Ascended for my main, that’s good, but I’m still 100% into Exotic armor and, unless they allow buying ascended weapons (or at least the materials) in the Trading Post, it’ll stay that way for me!
Ascended weapons (and future armors) are better than Exotic, but Exotic are just as good as they always were.
(don’t know if that’s the right place for this, sorry if it ain’t).
I was wondering why there isn’t any Ascended Rampager-like backpack! Like pretty much everything else! Seriously, there isn’t: I bought myself 250 Powerful Venom Sac only to find out I can’t make an Ascended Backpack with them! ‘checked out the list on wikia, ’seems like it’s the only Tier 6 resources that doesn’t give you an Ascended Backpack. Sold back most of them afterward…
I was wondering: Is there a reason why? Is there any plan to include one in the near future? ‘cause if not, I can just got for Berserker, just for the backpack, I don’t mind. But they’ll add it in the future, then I won’t put all my money on Powerful Blood.
Anyone got any info on this?
As you may have noticed, most people prefer the Longbow. However, as my main is a Ranger and I use the Shortbow, let me sell you on the Shortbow, shall I?
So, yeah, Longbow has longer range, good for it. It also does more damage by attack BUT it has a lower attack speed. For 2 attacks you get with Longbow, you do 3 with Shortbow. If we compare the damage output that way, the damage for Longbow is 634 at long-range, 458 at mid-range and 352 at close-range. Compare it to the shortbow’s 402 damage PLUS 128 damage over 3 seconds for bleeding (which it does each attack), the Shortbow is superior at close-range and slightly better as well mid-range. Sure, the Longbow has Rapid Fire to compensate, but the Shortbow don’t need that and can get Volley Shot instead for poison.
Quick Shot also beats Point Blank Shot. Here’s why: Point Blank shot, yes, is better at one-on-one, but it will knockback only ONE enemy. And even then, bosses often have immunity to it. Quick Shot allows you to evade ALL enemies and give you an escape. Now I guess Hunter Shot can do that as well, but why need 2 skills that keeps the enemies at bay?
Finally, Concussion Shot: Dazing! Enought said!
Now I’m not saying that the Longbow is bad, far from it! But seeing as everyone else uses it while I personnally prefer the Shortbow (mostly because it has a slightly better damage output IMO thanks to the speed, the bleed and the poison), I was just trying to sell it to you! In the end, the choice is yours, I think you’ve head opinions from both sides by now!
Have fun!
P.S.: Almost forgot: If you’re using the Rampage as One elite skill, then Shortbow is certainly the way to go! Every time you attack, your pet will gain a stack of Might, and with the attack speed attached to the Shortbow, the Might will stack like crazy on your Pet! People sometimes underestimate that!
I would prefer a Largos, too, but I get that Tengu are the most popular. And they’d be cool to have, too! Why not both, really? I wouldn’t mind that!
My argument for the Largos would be that their city is likely Underwater! So you’d ’’swim’’ to move around in their city instead of walking! ‘wanna see that! Maybe make it under a cave so that there’s really only one or two available exit, just for being practical!
I support the idea of GvG as well! Heck, it would be so great to implement! They already have destructive walls implemented, they could just create different maps for GvG with two ’’keeps’’ with destructive walls. And to have access to it your Guild would have to ’’buy’’ it with Influence in the Architecture category, thus ’’building’’ a Hall!
That would work so well, and would be so fun! So, yeah, supporting the GvG concent 100%!
Wasn’t there a Tengu named Talon in GW1? I believe there were! And Nighthawk… Maybe you should have kept that name for if/when Tengu will be a playable race! :p But if I were to judge it for a Tengu name, I’d certainly go for a 7.5-8/10!
I have 3 Sylvari, and I went for things that felt very Sylvari-like in my opinion:
Female Sylvari Ranger: Aineyn (P.S. It’s also my Main Character)
Female Sylvari Necromancer: Padheen
Male Sylvari Warrior: Luskybe
