since everyone is looking at this through a one mind point of view, i think i shall try and defend some FA people that you are accusing with this screenshot

(I am taking for given that you are a thief)

1) The sentry is yours
2) Probably set up a trap, hoping for some random person to stumble upon this sentry and try to gank him (then say “why you bad at 1v1”)
3) its next to SMC and between SMC and Lowlands Keep (Path with a lot of FA travelers)
4)It is a sentry not owned by FA thus people came for the sentry and not the thief kill

Moral of story: You have the 1v8 coming so you have no right to complain. get smart if you want 1v1’s an find the path that people do not travel en mass thus securing two things 1) you get time for a 1v1; 2) You have a better chance of going against better solo players and not zerging or players built for the zerg.
Lets be honest, as a thief you should not have trouble with people that are built for group combat (zergs), so go find challenges and not baddies. It doesn’t make you better.

I always assume the people who post these things and cry about laughing are the troll thieves/warriors/mesmers/etc who can’t do anything but run away from a fight. Even when you try to fight them 1v1 they just run run run.

The only problem with the emotes is that it shows no sense of sportsmanship.

When you back people up to their spawn and they keep coming giving it their all, despite being outnumbered 3 to 1 you could, idk, show a little class.

And FYI, when I was on TC and we were whipping your kitten on a regular basis, I never laughed at you, not once.

What makes you think I ever do this? We don’t spawn camp. Closest I’ve ever gotten to that is camping north camp because no one will fight us otherwise – but that’s still fighting over an objective like so many people seem to love. I’ll laugh at troll thieves, when I win1v5 2v8 etc, when people hide behind siege while we’re fighting 5v15, or when someone runs from a 1v1+.

But posting some random screenshot of someone laughing at you just tells me that person is a troll.

And speaking of sportsmanship, might want to leave out that whole "whopping our kitten thing, since there aren’t any good pvp’rs left on TC nowadays. The good ones transferred and I’ve not found anyone else to give me a good fight.

I’m not saying anything about you personally. Some people from FA has been spawn camping every night I go on, all the while laughing and cheering. It’s tacky.

I think I’m fine with that, I don’t think I’m too concerned with out yaks during this matchup.

Feel free to run into any of our roaming groups, like HL or RED and see if you can match up. Or track down Florg or Kiroshi and see if you can condi kill some pro engineers…they are always roaming…

We would love to fight another havoc group! So far haven’t managed to find any that I’ve noticed. They might all be on FA bl though since we tend to avoid home bl. There’s been plenty of good fights, but I’ve seen a lot of map zergs from both CD and SoS. Nothing against that, SoS secured their home bl heading into NA hours yesterday because they were running a large group that we couldn’t match at the time. But if you want so good small scale fights we’re out there – just come looking for us.

I’ve also been trying out a new mesmer build (haven’t played mesmer since the glamour/confusion nerf) and loving it! Only lost one 1v1 vs a necro early on, after that was winning 1v3 1v4 although a necro in the group is still a really difficult fight.. I also remember chasing a thief off our yaks coming to Hill yesterday when I was passing through the area. Never even tried to fight, just ran. Silly thief. Moral of the story, don’t care about yaks, just want to fight. Anyone yakslapping isn’t going to give me a (good) fight.

And I haven’t found any good 1v1’s in weeks, and very few good small groups to fight. I think it’s more of a problem with all the good wvw players not playing much anymore (across all servers). Or maybe I’m just extremely unlucky.

I was at cdbl killing yaks that ran from stargrove south but I don’t think I had ever seen a yak so actively defended before lol Were about 5-6 people defending yaks as they crossed there. Still we managed to kill a few of them and only saw one get away. My guildiedied but some thief chased me too far and I got him. Was fun overall

It still baffles me how anyone on TC can ever delude themselves into thinking they’re outnumbered. I don’t think anyone on TC has ever fought a single fight while outnumbered, with the exception of very few guilds (ZN, TSL, EP maybe?)

Not sure how you’re getting “baseless” from clear evidence in the form of a video. It’s like anytime an exploit occurs people shout for “vid or it didn’t happen” then you give them the video and it just comes with more excuses haha.

This happened to me as well, doesn’t work with the Interact key, but seems to be working if I rebind Aoe Loot to another key.

Sometime I’ll let uplevels go and sometimes I won’t. Sometimes they attack me when I’m just staring at them and I kill them because they initiated a fight. Other times I jump on my Halloween broom and ride around for the luls.

Fact of the matter is, you’re someone to kill in PvP. You can easily be giving scouting intel to the other server, on your way to flip a supply camp, etc and as a roamer I’m not just going to let you do that. I still will help with the Spider Queen rather often when I’m dueling at the windmill, even though I could just kill them. Point is, quit crying you got killed. If anyone ever lets you go without killing you then be thankful. There’s no reason why they should spare you other than the fact that they feel like it.

Last patch was an hour ago and we get a dungeon fix that wasn’t remotely needed.

How is this not hotfixed already?

As someone who spends a lot of time building and using defensive siege, this change was completely unnecessary and over the top. The arrowcart mastery alone might be fine, but the additional damage is just dumb. 2-3k damage per second in a 50 person aoe… My guild is rather well known for our defensive siege on our server, and even we aren’t delusional enough to think this is remotely balanced.

I would tend to disagree about how many we have gotten, as well as the effect they, and other changes, have had on my beloved TC community. I have lead TCBL almost daily for 5 months…. I salute my Guild, Primal Fury and the TC Militia, with whom I have spent many a 10 hour day….but I am, sadly, looking for another server.

Had an awesome time tonight on TC bl fighting DB around ruins and south camp! Had some good 3v3, 10v10, 15v15 ish fights. So glad to have people to fight in the open field!

The difficulty is just fine, if anything it’s pretty easy. If you’re having problems with the karkas, dodge the volley (twice if you need to) and the rest of their attacks are fairly weak. I honestly find the weakness debuff far more annoying. Projectile blocking/reflecting works amazing as well, definitely a zone I actually run with Dagger Storm instead of Thieves Guild. I’ve not seen any karkas do two volleys close together so just deal with that first attack and you’re fine.

And I’m a thief with full berserkers, enough vit to have ~16.5k hp, and no toughness.

If it was true and came from Anet, I agree this would assuage most of the population.

Unfortunately I don’t think this is going to happen or else they would have said something already.. However I completely agree and am still hoping we get this confirmation.

I know multiple people who feel the same way, and if you really want to give it a try then I’d definitely advise WvW. Other enemies can’t see your name so there’s really no trash talk outside of emotes (which are often meant in a friendly manner as well, like a /salute or /bow after a good fight). You should definitely join a WvW guild though, don’t just go in and run around alone. It can be a lot of fun playing with others. Some fights you win, some fights you lose, just like with any competition.

Also, it may help to think more about protecting your teammates rather than defeating your enemy. It’s something that seems to help the people I know who don’t like killing others (or being killed) but still enjoy PvP with friends. There’s also a lot of defensive strategy and siege equipment in WvW that you may enjoy.

And never think that there’s no point! Everyone starts somewhere and every defeat is a learning experience for how to improve your game. Learn from mistakes (whether it’s mechanical errors, map awareness, use of different traits/skills/weapon abilities, etc) and continue to grow into a better PvPer.

Something really needs to be said on how this is going to effect WvW. None of us want to do PvE to get our best gear all over again and again as new best items are released. Is this gear going to be obtainable by PvP’ing? Are badge drops/prices going to be addressed to make the time needed to acquire gear closer to that of PvE? Will there be a range of options in stat combinations as opposed to just the power/toughness/vitality set?

A majority of people upset about this are PvP players who feel we are being forced into PvE to remain competitive. Some answers for the WvW community would be greatly appreciated.

Just want to say I will not be spending anymore money on this game if this update goes live as is. I’ve bought inventory space as well as skins/dyes, and was looking forward to buying more skins in the future as they’re released. Heck, if they released a wardrobe, I’d buy that immediately. Or if they added any sort of method allowing you to switch between skins without having to have entirely different sets of gear. I have no problem spending money on cosmetics because I was led to believe that the exotics I have now would be the best option for my endgame gear. That’s the entire reason I started playing GW2 and the reason I’ve been following the game for 2 years.

Will I keep playing? Most likely, as I do still enjoy playing alts and WvW. Although, if WvW takes a big enough hit from this, I may very well stop playing.

As others have said, this is a blow to the core player-base, the loyal fans who’ve followed the game for so long. We don’t want new gear to make our current gear outdated, we’ve never wanted this. It’s a major reason we play GW2 and not other MMO’s. The people who want their fancy new stats will just leave again as soon as they get them.

Unless something is done to make current exotics equivalent to the new gear, I will not support the game any longer through the gem store. Give me new cosmetic options, and I will buy those in a heartbeat. But not new and better stats.

Got to say I’m incredibly disappointed with this. I’ve been following GW2 for about 2 years and there’s been no other game I’ve been more excited for and enjoyed more. The greatest draw to GW2 for me was the lack of a gear treadmill. Now in order to have BiS items for WvW, I’m going to have to grind dungeons to get this gear. On top of that, I’ll need to transmute it all again when I was told the exotic gear I transmuted would be the best stats I could obtain. sPvP players don’t grind for their gear, why should WvW PvP players be expected to grind more than we already have to for their gear?

There really is no reason why this gear shouldn’t have the same stats as current exotics. I suppose all I can really do is hope ANet sees how terrible a decision this is and makes the stats the same.

I use Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew for might on dodge and 40% endurance regen coupled with 15+ points in Acrobatics.

The other option I’ve considered is the 100prec/10%critdmg food.

We got in with 2 catas on your outer wall and a ram on the inner gate. You even drained all your supply repairing it. Walked right past a SoR guy who was afk on our way to the inner gate lol
