Uh, don’t defrag SSDs. All it does is add wear to them. They don’t need to be defragged.

On W10 you can’t defrag SSD’s unless you use an external program. Windows does it on its own when it deems necessary to lessen the wear.

most that have commented on this post fully missed my points but that is ok .and their should be minimum specs for games . as them are all fine and good

what is not good is the fact their is no high end specs at all for this game . as well as the fact you can not run 3 or 2 even GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 DirectX 12 GV-N1080D5X-8GD 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5X PCI Express 3.0 x16 ATX Video Cards at the same time for this game

or use full 8 or 10 core at all . but not only that if me and my friends can take a $400.00 computer and tweak it using used $100.00 parts and make the game run better with a few well known tricks and so forth . like in this video case in point .
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fg-R8iZ-Bns

and play grand theft auto or even wow on a $400.00 used parts computer well then it says a lot about cheep computers and get the same 70fps frame rates as well as high end computers .

just goes to show how this game really needs to upgrade and over hall the high end system specs and I know I am not the only one that would love to play this game in 4K with 100 fps and more

but with no support for said hardware software for us high end users .. it just does not make that new shiny pack worth it. even more

so when I can take my $400.00 used parts computer and get the same out of it and save my high end computer for games like world of war craft and grand theft auto and over watch and got to say for $400.00 used parts the game looks as good as it does on my high end computers

What you are asking is for an engine upgrade, not a game systems upgrade. Game systems can be done by simply updating those same systems to include new features. These can include character progression systems, models and textures, etc. in a way it’s a patch really.

An engine upgrade is a whole different beast. It is usually a huge undertaking for any developer to do any sort of changes to their game engine. What you are asking is for ANet to change the architecture on which their engine is built upon. Nevermind the fact that there are no games currently that go above 4 cores, and very few that go over 2. And the fact you can’t SLI a 1080 (we don’t need the full name of the card, please don’t…) is irrelevant. Such a card is already overkill on its own, SLI is redundant.

So basically, you are complaining about something you have either never experienced, or have no need for. And we don’t need to see your chassis, this isn’t an kitten contest.

Stick to asking for 4k support, which as far as I know is actually a reasonable request. (And even that, I have seen Eyefinity setups running this game fine)

Ryzen and Threadripper are barely out of the gate, so waiting for support for them is unrealistic at best.

So what are you complaining about again? That you can’t fit your 10cm plug into a 5cm socket? Well no sh-.

How about you complain about engine optimizations eh? I remember this game during closed beta and performance wise it is a far cry from now.

Soul-bound gear into the mystic forge.

They nerfed most ways of turning karma into gold quite a while ago. If they considered this to be an exploit I think they would have done the same thing to it. Considering the rate of return on the Mystic Toilet, I can see why they wouldn’t look down on it.

You’re better off buying the jewelery boxes though, really.

I know, and I do plan to do so, but currently I am mid way through changing my whole build and game-play style, and doing so is proving quite costly, so I’m literaly looking for every way I can make the amounts needed to get to the level of gear I had previously, in this new build and style. And while recycling my old gear, I came upon this possibility, but would like to know whether or not it is an exploit first.

But I have considered the nerfs and restricions ANet made to Karma converting, thus my opinion that it is not considered an exploit.

I could use some clarification regarding this one, as I’m thinking of doing it, but some of my friends are saying it’s an exploit, or something very close to it.

Basically I’m talking about using Karma (farmed from events and other legit souces) to buy gear from the temple vendors (which will become soul-bound on acquisition), specifically 4 pieces, putting these 4, soul-bound, pieces into the Mystic Forge, and getting a random, non-soul-bound item, which I can later sell at the trading post.

I basically put my old gear (which was a mix of [Armor of Armageddon] and [Flame Legion] light armor) into the forge, and got a random leg item, which was not soul-bound, that I have since then sold on the trading post.

My stance on this is that this is NOT an exploit, considering I still have to farm the Karma needed, and four fold as well, plus do the events for the temple vendors, and then combine them in the forge for a chance of a random item, which may or may not the sell at the trading post (although it will almost always sell).

Also, note that I am not restricting this only to Karma vendor gear, but also dungeon token gear (as was my [Flame Legion] light set).

So, at the end of the day, is it considered an exploit or not?

(cont.) If you really can’t understand English and still want to communicate in your original language why not do it in a guild of other people of your country that, even if they can’t help you, can more than likely use English to ask for you in /m. That is what a community is all about, helping each other. How ever, if you are so adamant of your opinion that /m should be a cluster-bomb of random talking, each in its own language, then may I suggest the following. The addition of a Channel system for the chat that will separate the /m chat in it’s default channel and in user created (or Gm-through request created) channels for each specific language the users want to use. And seeing as the tab system in the chat window already allows for filtering of certain channels in tabs, this should not be something hard to do.

Now, this is what I think, it is MY opinion. The same way you have yours I an entitled to my own regardless of me liking your opinion or not and Vice-Versa. In a totally biased way I still believe that my opinion of what language should be spoken in this specific chat is, is the correct one, and if not then the solution I suggested to be the most appropriate. This opinion will likely not be shared with you however, but it is still my opinion, it isn’t superior to anyone else’s nor is it inferior.

And to avoid confusion, I have nothing against people of different countries who speak different languages to my own. In fact the interaction with these people is something I really enjoy (specially in MMO’s) and that I encourage to all my friends and relatives. However it’s point fall to naught when we cannot understand one another. This interaction of different people and cultures is something I believe enriches oneself more than one single individual or religion, and contributes to a very good growth in maturity of a person, into being someone who is more aware of others who do not share the same nation(I am unsure in this term/word, unsure it explains what I am trying to transmit).

I leave here my opinion and will enjoy any CONSTRUCTIVE opinions and criticisms you may have but will disregard, and ask you do the same, any other type of comments made here with the intent of flaming or the inevitable trolling.

PS: Also returning to the example of the conversation in which I got called a racist. I followed his comment with a: “WOW, that doesn’t even relate to anything I have talked about so far, do you even know the meaning of the word?”
to which I got answered with: “Oh I’m sorry I cannot speak English very well, but if you want to continue this discussion in [X language]……”
. . . And yet you were able to call me a racist and tell me this right now with no apparent mistakes……that is just rude and disrepectful.

I am sorry Miss Buenaobra, but I’m going to have to disagree with your opinion. GW2 is a game that, specially because of it’s Pay once and play for ever model, should have an official language for the general chat (in this case /m or /map). Even before the game was out (this includes the head-start) communities were already deciding on their own that certain servers would become these so called “Unnoficial” X language server. This resulted in a great deal of players of a specific language to flood these servers.

When me and my friends joined the game we decided to join a server, which common sense dictates, if it is not language tagged it will be of the default game language. Since we knew there would not be a specific server for our language, and we all know English to some degree , we decided to join the server we are currently located at.

At first the community showed a helpful and enjoyable environment, specifically in the /m chat across the several areas in which this chat is available. And then they came. The members of those communities that had decided on their own that this server we were now on was of X language started coming and suddenly the chat became flooded with sentences I had no idea what they meant. There were occasions in which we would even be told, should we speak in English in /m: “This is a [Language here] Server, so please speak [X].” I’m sorry WHAT? Oh but it goes on.
Should we try to argue with them about the language in the chat, 9 out of 10 times we would end up being called racists, Nazi’s even and other similes, and we would be so called for reasons that don’t even relate. Such as…and this is almost a direct quote:
“Why can’t you guys speak a language we can all understand in /m… geez”
“Wow, you are racist against non-English people shut up idiot.”
….I think I don’t need to tell you what followed after, I reported him and nothing happened. As with every report made by me and my friends-_-

But we continued to argue on, and we somewhat got support on both sides. But there are still a considerable number of people who refuse to accept it.

Those who accepted it were people who understand one thing that should be common sense to anyone play an MMO. When you speak in a global chat (or any chat that encompasses a whole area/zone for that matter) you are speaking to EVERYONE in said area/zone, and not to someone in specific or a certain group of individuals, but rather everyone. And to those that do not understand a a chat is considered Global, or in this case Area-Wide, when its reach goes beyond that of /s and /y and is see able by everyone, unlike /p and /g which are private chats.

You see the argument where not everyone understands English works both ways and is more relevant on the opposite side to that it is being used. Some people may not understand English BUT you can trust me when I say that there are a lot less people that understand you own language. You mustn’t forget that the English language is the most widespread language in the world and that most countries teach it in school from very early on (my own country for instance has started teaching it since grade 1 in recent years) not to mention that the language is used so much everywhere that you are due to end up picking up the language, or part of it, inevitably.

It’s not a mater of enforcing our preferred language upon anyone but rather of everyone using a language, in a chat where you speak with everyone, that everyone can understand. (cont.)
