Gold is harder to get, now instead of a fifteen minute dungeon you have to do meta events but the price haven’t moved.

Ever thought that the gold dungeons used to give is the reason for high prices? People that farmed the dungeons all day every day were bringing ~ 350g per week into economy. That’s gold created form thin air mostly.

That lead to some players amassing huge amounts of currency, while the rest barely scraped by. Now, with he reduced rewards and plenty of mat sinks, those people have reasons to spend that gold on TP to get stuff faster.

Yes, it hurts those that didn’t have gold, because they still need to pay the costs of guild halls, etc. but since it’s now based more on material rather than gold, it is possible to farm them. That’s why low and mid tier scraps, ore and leather are so expensive now. That’s what new player can farm to earn gold.

I recently leveled my alt, and outwith going out of my way to mine every ore and cut every tree, without doing more than 30% world completion, i made over 100g from the junk i got. That’s money exchanging hands rather than being given by game.

This is simply bugging me, it is.
15k+ AP, full set of Ascended Berserker Gear, that MUST be pinged to squad leader before he even CONSIDERS you to be apart of the party.

I come from a long lasting WoW background and I can tell you one thing – people putting such silly requirements for raids (especially achievement points…) do so, because they, themselves, suck and want to be carried by others with more skill/better gear. Avoid groups like that, because it will essentially make it 9 manning the raid.

Yes, the zerker meta didn’t really suffer from raids being introduced, yes, you need one tankier person and some condi, but still, the pure dps output matters the most. That’s sadly the flaw on the very core design however and i don’t expect it to be fixed anytime soon if at all.

Endgame content, with any MMO, in always about min/maxing for the best efficiency. DPS checks are common mechanic and when you think about how healing, dodging and downed state work in GW2, there isn’t really whole lot that can be do change it. Best way? Find a more laid back guild that won’t mind giving you a go in raids in a more casual environment. LFG is for desperate people ^^

As for TD meta. From all the fails i’ve seen, the problem rarely was damage output on the boss, most of the times it’s one of the lanes failing to lure it out, due to all sorts of various reasons. Maybe people will learn, maybe the bugs will be fixed, or maybe it will remain as elusive as Triple Trouble.

Hey Folks,
So what did we do?
We selected three specific sub-bosses throughout each dungeon chain and developed special drops for them that are influenced by your character’s Magic Find.

While everything else sounds awesome, this part really disturbs me. There is already enough disdain for magic find mechanics and the fact that players are, in a way, forced to wear sub optimal gear in order to get a better chance for worthwhile drops. Making this specific change you also make us wear magic find gear in dungeons where it completely messes up class balance.

Since MF gear (at least so far) is limited to power/precision and, with Mad King’s set (which is no longer obtainable) power/condition damage, it completely exclude builds that are build around other stats, not to mention the runes that are huge contributor to overall magic find.

Of course we are not forced to use full magic find sets, but I doubt many will be as bold to ignore the possible increase in chance, no matter how small.

Not big fan of idea of higher tier of items stat wise. Current system works well, it gives me choice.

If ascended armors are only available in there it means that to have optimal stats I do have do that specific dungeon, maybe it will be fun, maybe it will be best thing since sliced bread, but in the end it limits my choice.

Currently if I want exotic set I have several ways to obtain it: I can craft it, I can buy it off TP, I can run dungeons for the token or I can grind karma – That’s fine, I am not forced one path. Why change it suddenly?

If You want to add meaningful infusion slots, great, but let us obtain them in more than one way or don’t do it at all.

Orr zone resets [Piken Square].

Over last week on Piken Square Malchor’s Leap zone got reset several times, changing the node spawns, etc. but same time, Cursed Shore that is more and more bugged with each day and has Arah gates closed ever since few hours after last build did not get a single reset in that whole time.

I’m just curious if the zone resets on it’s own if it’s the Arena Net team doing, and if so, why reset Leap and not Shore?

In what way did you fail Balthazar today? =D

Not today, since it’s been a while I’ve seen people even bother with it, but usually it goes something like “dodge the fireball, avoid the teleport, block the attack…only to get feared across 3 poison fields”. As for general reasons of failure? Either people completely ignoring the spawns or missing the last ones letting him heal up when he’s at 10%… fun times.

Was doing Arah, same thing. Disconnected shortly after the 3 hour warning and Log-In issue error pop up on attempt to re-enter. Other people in party disconnected one by one later on as well.

The prices are fine. Obsidian/Vabbi armor in GW1 was way more expensive really if you’d compare the effort to get those. Tier3 is supposed to be the most prestigious set in game currently and it has to be expensive. It’s not required for anything other than show off/vanity.

I think that if the Claw’s Health doesn’t hit critical in the first 15 minutes, then tons of Champions should appear and kill everyone! then the claw should fly off and done, the end. Till ~4 hours later lol

Or just make the “trash mobs” get stronger over time… more Vets… then Champions… make it get to the point where the battle will be impossible to win, if the claw isn’t brought down.

He does get brought down by the cannons tho. IT’s not like killing the trash spawns does not benefit the fight at all. When you kill off the crystals the NPCs shoot the cannons, both at the shield and at Claw. You can’t delay phase 1 to no end.

Blame the design. Currently with some higher level meta event bosses killing them quick is less profitable than focusing purely on the trash spawns. Lyssa, Grenth and Claw are main offenders in this case.

Tell me, why would I want to finish the event fast if the chest will give me 4 blues, while same time, farming the crystal drops I can get 4-5 rares, a lodestone and at least 20 blue/greens?

The only way to really fix it would be making the chests actually drop desirable things. Make it a guaranteed lodestone and 2-3 rares drop from those big boxes then I’ll consider doing something more than trash farming.

Oh, and before someone comes up with brilliant idea, no, nerfing the trash drops is not a solution. It will only lead to no one even bothering with those events.

Your experience might actually lend strength to the theory that it is triggered by players NOT destroying portals, Holo. During Halloween, it’s a safe bet that the vast majority of players were doing Halloween content in the Mad Realm or hanging out in LA, which means that very few players were in the swamp destroying portals. Once the event was over, people started returning to their usual PvE activities, and so the timer for the quest keeps getting reset.

However, if this IS the way the quest is getting triggered, it’s an extremely stupid way because it relies on players NOT doing something they would normally do as part of completing their Renown Heart. I really hope that ANet sees this thread and posts a response.

I really doubt it has anything to do with players destroying the portals. I’ve seen Behemoth several times in first month of GW2 and there surely was more people doing that renown heart than there is these days. I have a feeling there is some bug involved in the chain tho, since after spending about 3 hours yesterday in the swamp, doing nearby events, I didn’t even see the brew escort quest to trigger once. I have no idea whenever it is related or not, but if that one didn’t spawn, despite about 10 or so people rotating around the area and monastery throughout those 3 hours I have a feeling something was not working correctly.

Frankly, at this point it’s better to leave it as it is. So many people got exotics now that a fix like with labyrinth will only cause another part of community being cut off from chance for any profit before they even get to try it. The labyrinth fix was bad enough, since plenty of people got rich quickly in first 1.5 hour and rest of us got left with 1 chance per day.

ArenaNet said they want to make dungeon chests drop better stuff than currently do and I think this event lets them see how it might work and what to tweak.

Even tho previous patchnotes stated that achievement count got fixed I still didn’t get credit for the Pumpkin Carving achievement in the Emissary of the Mad King to count.

Dear Arena Net devs and other people involved in making the game,

It’s been now over a month since the release of Guild Wars 2. A month I enjoyed myself a lot, but it’s hard to ignore the piling up issues that still reduce the fun-factor. I do understand that MMOs are complex animals, and, I fully accepted the possibility that for first months things may not work as intended here and there. While it is frustrating to run into yet another bugged skill point challenge or an event chain stuck midway through, without any way of resetting it, I still manage to find places to have fun in game.

The problem, however, lies in the fact we really lack communication from Your side. We haven’t seen a blog post detailing your road map for quite a while, and while the coding part of your team is probably busy with work, I am sure You have someone on board that could update us, regularly, on how things are going.

In many MMOs I played in recent years it was common for the studio to publish so called “State of the game” post around month post-release and I think GW2 could really use one now. Please tell us more about how You feel about things like current content availability and tuning, what is the deal with all the diminishing returns on drops and event rewards that people run into, how do you see overall drop distribution in its current state and finally, what are your future plans for both content and further improvements to the formula. I leave out PvP issues, since we already had a post on those promised a while ago and if I understand correctly it’s on its way.

Many of us feel a little left in the dark currently, and reading “fixed issues with skill points and dynamic events” each week only to run into same bugs again and again is not helping much.

Yup. We really could use at least one server reset a day til devs find a way to fix the stuff for good. Currently so many zones are simply unplayable either due to bugged skill challenges that block the map completion progress or bugged DEs that make it a lot harder to level through the zone or play it at all like in case of most of Orr.

So.. we haven’t got a new build/server restart in a while and because of this, on Piken Square, Straits of Devastation zone is completely bugged. The main event is stuck on all fronts and there is no way to push it either way for quite some time now. With the daily builds and server rests at least it worked for few hours a day, now it’s 2-3 days that the zone is pretty much broken.

There is over 200 skillpoints to get from skill challenges alone, on top of that you get 1 skillpoint every level and every full exp bar past 80. You can get infinite skillpoints. So yes, you can get every utility/elite skill for your profession and then have plenty spare for mystic forge needs.

Salvaging karma gear

Okay. I understand the ability to salvage karma gear was disabled due to exploits, but do You ever plan to add it back? Before all those silly exploit affair I’ve put some decent sigils into weapons bought with karma I’d like to retrieve – now there is no way for me to do it. Similarly I’d love to buy myself the set from Dwayna temple for the rune set, but since I won’t be able to salvage the stuff, what’s the point? I can craft a set that has stats better suited for my needs.
Currently karma has no real value outside of restocking on salvaging kits/gathering tools for me.

Why exactly it’s not possible to buy more than 250 at time? Whenever I type in >250 in the amount wanted it goes red. Would be nice if I could buy in bulk at once rather than have to buy per stack.
