I recently made a post about a friends account being suspended for reasons we did not know. The topic was locked fairly quickly so I am unable to post an update there. A support representative got back to my friend basically saying it was suspected credit card fraud, so the game was removed from his account and the credit card refunded. The funny thing is, it was MY credit card that was used. I purchased it for him as a gift. There was no case of fraud at all. I’m fully aware that what (potentially) raised the flag was that he currently resides in Ireland and I England.

So my questions are; is it against the rules to purchase a serial key for someone else in another country? Is there any way I can purchase a key for him without him once again getting suspended and losing the game?

I recently purchased Guild Wars 2 for my friend as a gift for his birthday. All was well for a couple days until he tried to log in yesterday and found his account had been suspended for undisclosed reasons. We have been trying to figure out why this could have happened since, as far as we’re aware, we have broken no terms of service. We just spent the first couple of days questing and crafting, haven’t communicated with anyone else and he does not have an offensive name. I’m just extremely frustrated that what was supposed to be a nice birthday gift that we could both enjoy has just been taken away from him. He has submitted a ticket but isn’t really getting any response, let alone a reason for the suspension.
