I was just wondering, between running a symbol healing build around the hammer, and a crit applying might build, with both having altruistic healing, which would be doing more healing/dmg/survivability?

Ive recently respecced my guardian to be using hammers and getting healing symbols, larger symbols and longer symbols, along with the altruistic healing trait and shouts, along with rune of soldiers so my shouts can remove conditions, as well as get more vit and tough.

I dont find my killing too slow with the hammer and its fun running with the zerg or organized grps in pve cos you see lots of numbers fly, both white and green numbers. It helps that the friends i usually run with are warriors that melee so they get the healing and prot from my symbols too

so someone mentioned i might want to make my case here

As you know earlier today the trading post was buggy, and for me it was not processing buy orders, now i tried to place a custom buy order but it did not respond and did not deduct my gold despite numerous tries, so i logged off for work assuming that i would try to place the order again when i got back from work.
Now imagine my horror when i got back and found that from the 8+ gold i had at the start of the day that i now only had 1 gold remaining in my inventory and lots and lots of the item that i thought had unsuccessfully been customed ordered and is sitting in my pick up tab, way more than i had originally intended to purchase.
This leads me to assume that despite not giving me a successful message, and not deducting my gold, that the order had been registered anyway.
Is there a way to rectify this situation? Because i certainly did not intend to blow 7 gold ( may not be alot to some of you but i just reached 80 barely a few days ago) on these items

Hammer protection is not optimal compared to shield, there’s no argument. People have to be on top of it, and in dungeons that’s just too much of a risk.

But the 4 skill of the shield doesn’t help much unless you have many melee party members when u use it since its a frontal cone, so it isnt that much better than a symbol on the ground either.

I agree with the sentiment that the shield just doesnt feel defensy enough, i mean like was earlier said, when i take a shield i want to block things, and its funny how i have to take a focus if i want to block things…

Providing buffs to the party is fine, but thematically, should that not be with the more magicky of the off hands ie the focus rather than the more defense orientated shield?
