[Incident: 130726-000533] — I apologize for not getting this to you sooner but I had to walk away from this issue for a while. I’ve been such a huge Anet fan for so long, and this little tick has been so disheartening, it required I put myself in “time-out” lol.
I get that server reset is something you don’t do. If it’s unprecedented and never been done — fine. I’m not certain if it is, however, and now I’m quite curious. The language in the incident report clearly says that my “account was ineligible,” which made bells sound in my head.
I’m also willing and on board for paying 1000 gems for misclicking. My mistake — lesson learned.
What I’m NOT okay with is paying another 1600 gems to return when my ‘punishment’ is up.
I buy gems w/ USD, not game gold. I believe in supporting Anet monthly as though I were paying a subscription fee so, I buy gems via PayPal every month. Sadly, I recently increased my purchase from 20USD to 50USD, which is why I had enough game currency laying around to accidentally transfer. I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

Yes I did, Roy, thank you. I did so (again) last night and recieved a response, one that told me my account was ineligible for such assistance — no explanation as to why, etc. So, basically, I’m screwed.
Upshot: A failed UI design forced me to pay 1000 gems to accidentally transfer to a server. I must wait 7 days to pay almost double (1800 gems) to return to my original home server because apparently Anet doesn’t see it that way.

Is there any way to modify the guest & transfer options?
Clicking “Guest” generates an obvious, intentional, look-at-what-you’re-about-to-do confirmation from the game.
Clicking “Transfer” does NOT generate a confirmation; instead, it transfers you. Period. It just take the gems and your kitten is on the server with no recourse for 7 days.
IMHO, I think these two need to be reversed. It matters little if I accidentally guest on the wrong server. It matters a LOT if I can so easily and with no recourse transfer my entire account.
I’m a WvW guild leakitten eople are counting on me and at present, I feel utterly homeless, lol.
I’m a competent adult with the ability to read AND push buttons, and yet I still managed to make this mistake. And I have paid for it. Literally. I’m seperated from my guild for 7 days and paid 1000 gems for the privilege. Since I’ve received no response from my ticket, it looks as though I’ll be paying 1800 gems to return to my (higher population) home server

Thank you, Gaile. I remember goofing w/ you in GW1, Lion’s Arch…. I remember a frog was involved ^^
Anyway, I’ve checked all possible files and sadly the only “Anet” emails anywhere are the bogus ones; hence, I have no 12-digit ticket number for this incident. (if it was contained in the original in-game ticket, I completely missed it)
I’ll be happy to write a post in Suggestions. I’ve not reticketed, but I have submitted a Support smthg-or-other via the main site where I included my email, my cell #, my game’s serial code (my first-born male child, etc xD). I’ll repost here if nothing comes of that attempt.

Was it my fault? You betcha. I own it. I made a mistake and I paid for it. Literally. Am I ticked beyond words? You betcha. But at this point I’m not certain who I’m more angry with…
I’ve sent in a ticket basically begging you folks to keep my money and transfer me back to my home server b/c I lead a WvW guild. I did this yesterday, the moment it happened. No response. Still. Not even an automated “we got your ticket” email.
I’ve tried registering on the support site and apparently my email isn’t recognizable, even though I use it to log into everything else GW2 related (unless the support site is down, which I doubt :/).
I don’t know what else to do other than wait 6 more days and pay for yet another transfer back to where I belong and chalk it up to a lesson learned. One thing is for sure, I won’t Paypal my way to gem purchases that exceed 1000 gems ever again.
