A small update, when I let my game autodetect the graphics settings it automatically turns every option to the lowest possible setting.
So I get the impression the game simply doesn’t recognise my video card or latest video card driver at all, even though I have it all installed and updated.
Does anyone have any clue how to make sure Guild Wars 2 actually “sees” my video card?
Or why it for some reason does not seem to detect these half transparent texture?
I tested a few other things, but none of these worked either:
- Installed the latest beta driver to my video card
- Went through every sticky on these forums in regards to AMD video cards

I know I am reviving an old thread, but this is the only other case I’ve found where someone suffers from the exact same problem as I am currently having.
(It’s the exact same issue as seen in the screenshot in the original post.)
I’ve already tried the following things:
- Restarting the game (pretty obvious)
- Changing the graphics settings to high
- Changing the graphics settings to low
- Changed every graphics setting individually
- Ran the Guild Wars 2 Repair Tool
- Updated my video card driver
- A complete reinstallation of the game
None of these work and the weirdest thing is that my hair textures used to show up just fine when I had this game installed roughly a year back, on the same laptop with the exact same specifications. I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5165 myself, running on a Windows 7 operation system.
If anyone ever found a solution to this issue, I’d be very grateful to hear it.
