Nice to Siege You is a guild located on Yak’s Bend focused on WvW and character completion PvE activities (such as acquiring legendary weapons). Our play times cater to people in the Western half of the United States and Canada.

Leader: Fiery Stix
Officers: Zumaris Sotori, Vealyn
We are currently recruiting level 80 players who are one or both of the following:
- Veterans of WvW-style MMOs. (Games such as, but not limited to, Dark Age of Camelot and PlanetSide.)
- Veterans of Guild Wars 1.
We are restricting recruitment to this criteria, because players who have played such games extensively are most likely to understand and enjoy the end-game in GW2. This requirement is also supportive of our end-game focus as a guild to participate in both WvW and complete legendary weapons and exotic armor sets. Over time, we will expand our recruitment pool to include people who have played GW2 extensively in our areas of focus. But for now, we are only looking for the above.
Prospective members must also adhere to the following rules:
- Stay cool.
- Use Mumble.
The first rule is self-explanatory. We want cool people who can enjoy their time in game and respect their fellow members. The second rule needs some clarification. We do not expect people to idle in Mumble all day. Sometimes Mumble can be distracting. And chatting over Mumble is not necessary for all activities. But for WvW, as one example, we would expect people to be on Mumble to listen to instructions being handed out by the person coordinating attacks and defense.
When writing an application to join the guild, please use your best judgment and explain as much as you possibly can about your experiences in any games you’ve played in each area. For example, if I were to apply myself, I would describe my time in Dark Age of Camelot. I’d mention my membership with a guild called Infortis ov Forstei on Merlin. I’d explain that, as a Spiritmaster, I was a part of an 8-man stun-PBAoE ganking crew. I’d mention that I reached RR10, RL1. And I would rifle off my views about RvR on classic versus ToA servers. And, of course, I’d talk about playing the game from release until late 2004, with a year’s break in the middle to concentrate on some rough semesters at college. (And I’d mention briefly returning to the game in 2008, because I missed RvR.) Of course, I’d also mention my time in GW1.
You should also briefly explain your playstyle(s) with your GW2 character’s class. For example, I would describe how I use an arcane, AoE staff build during WvW sieges and large-group combat, and switch to dual dagger for small-group combat, or for supporting a thief I often play with who pulls people off of keep walls with scorpion wire. I ’d also mention I sometimes play staff support.
Providing proof of your experience or accomplishments will improve your chances of having your application accepted. And it doesn’t hurt to mention any other MMO and gaming experience, even if it doesn’t fit our criteria for recruitment. This is especially true if such experience would suggest skill in play, strategy or leadership. For example, I led a hardcore raiding guild in WoW through all of TBC and half of Wrath.
If accepted, a player will be briefly placed on status as a recruit. This is to make sure applicants who have been accepted are cool and active enough, because applications do not necessarily ensure these desirable traits. This phase can last anywhere between two weeks and a month, depending on activity and how much time the recruit spends playing with our officers.
To apply, simply point yourself towards our forums, register, and post your application in the Recruitment & Applications forum. Please format the title of your post as “Your Main Character’s Name, Your Main Character’s Class.” So my thread would be titled “Fiery Stix, Elementalist.” It is assumed your character is level 80, so this does not need to be posted in the title. Alternatively, to submit a private application, you can PM Fiery Stix on our forums.
Thanks and I hope to see your application soon!
