Looking more on this issue, I can’t seem to find any cases that match mine. Unless help comes I may be forced to ask for a refund. No point having a game if its launcher, and not the game itself won’t let me play it.
Since I first bought this game I have cleaned it out many times since then, I would like to mention as I post this screenshot that I believe that perhaps the core sensor is a bit off. I say this because the temperatures you will see were the same before, AND after I entirely cleaned everything out including reinstalling the stock heat sink, reapplying the thermal paste correctly in the process.
EDIT: First is idle, second is while client is running.

For whatever the reason I believe you may have given me something of interest. Looking at the program you recommended I watched as I started up the program and watched as temperatures rapidly climbed atleast 10 degrees celcius in some sensors, and 20 degrees in others.
This could possibly be the reason why there are NO event logs to be found in my documents in the right folder at all. But this raises another question. Why is this -launcher- making my computer overheat (If it is), and not high def games run at high quality?
This has long been a problem for me. A problem that has made my copy of Guild Wars 2 sit around collecting dust. I pre-purchased my copy all the way back in August and since then I’ve spent about 10 hours playing it. Not because I don’t want to. But the game just won’t let me.
Basically, whenever I have the client installing, patching or downloading (Maybe just being open even), my entire computer computer freezes until I’m forced to restart it. Sometimes it takes about 10 minutes. Sometimes a few seconds. But it ALWAYS happens and this is the only, I repeat, the ONLY program that causes this. I have done everything I can think of to get this working and nothing works.
Whats worse is that even if I decide to pursue the route of downloading 1-20 minutes at a time before crashing, I often have the issue where when I restart the client it will attempt to rebuild the files, and if it crashes during that, I have to start the download all over again.
The two times I have by some divine miracle been able to struggle through all this and actually play the game, all that work was undone with a single patch that made me lose everything again. I have contacted support about six months ago, and their help was as simple as “turn off your firewall.” It didn’t work.
Since then I have upgraded my graphics card to a Radeon 6900HD, and completely reformated my computer twice. I have updated every program I can possibly update, including windows updates on my Windows 7. I have tried installling both from an official game disk, and from the actual client, both of them crash. I have tried in safe mode, with my firewall off and my anti-virus completely uninstalled. I have tried everything I can. Help me fix this or I have just wasted $60 on a game I can’t even play.
