Flying Knee, you realize balance is never going to be perfect, so unless you enjoy rerolling the current FOTM overpowered you need to at some point sit down and accept you will be playing the underdog for a bit?
I do. However my biggest grip is about how things that need to be buffed aren’t and things that don’t need to get nerfed are. I realize that perfect balance is hard to achieve but i haven’t been impressed with Anet way of handling things so far. Not at all. I don’t completely give up on GW2 but the way things are currently changing now , often for the worse , are making me take a break and wait until things stabilize a bit because i really don’t feel like re-rolling or completely re-equiping one of my character every patch because the build i used is now completely FUBAR or broken due to some questionnable implemented changes. I’ll come back once i know that the build on my character won’t be radically altered because of nerfs or whatever. It’s just too annoying for me to deal with.
Exemple : The shortbow nerf was really not needed on an already low damage class and yet they nerfed it apparently to fix an animation bug that no one ever noticed and because Anet thought that “It wasn’t fun to always use autoattack” . Im sorry but that’s bollocks and exactly the type of things i despise.
I have the solution. Everyone has to use one build /drips sarcasm
Hey but this is what happened with the Rangers. Almost everyone using Shortbow builds because every other weapon aside maybe from Axe + Warhorn , pets and utilities were garbage.
Guess what ? This ended up with the SB being nerfed lol.
Personally i’m shelving GW2 until i see some decent changes. As a former Ranger who switched to Mesmer due to the Ranger being subpar i feel like i completely wasted my time with both classes , thanks to all the nerfs. And give me a brek about adapting. I"m not grinding another set of equipment just to change to a less effective build i was using previously. I don’t have the patience for that. Sure i could always reroll but one time was enough and i don’t have the time nor patience to go through boring PVE all over again. So i’m done until i see Anet get their kitten together and actually think before implementing nerfs and changes.
What about Mirror Of Anguish ? Im a Mesmer myself but didn’t really took the time to test it vs Thief even though i planned to. Wouldn’t reflecting their Stun or whatever right back in the face on their initial attack give the Mesmer enough time to dodge or get away from the Thief burst ?
I know it’s on a long CD though and can only be used once every minutes and half so obviously it doesn’t work all the time (if it actually does , maybe someome who tried it can elaborate on this ?)
I used to play conditions in WwW but then i switched to almost full glass cannon and im doing much better. Sure im less durable but more effective for my playstyle. In Zerg vs Zerg i normally try to stay a bit behind the lines and pick people apart at range. My main weapon is GS and i used either Sword – Focus or Staff as my 2nd. I also use Feedback quite a bit. A well placed FB in a zerg has a lot of potential.
What i love about the Mesmer is that it can do a lot of different stuff effectively. Be it reflect projectile , support the party with boons (time warp and portal) , pull people of walls , knockback enemies with GS 5 (which is an underestimated skill imho) and do DPS when i need to with shatter and IBerserker. Im fragile so i have to be aware of my surroundings most of the time but its part of the fun if you ask me.
Tried Warrior and Ranger and got bored. Mesmer however is a lot of fun , especially in PVP and WvW. My favorite class by far right now
Corpse dancing, jumping and other humilation tactics -- When are they acceptable?
in WvW

I faceplamed so many times reading this thread. Some of you really need to grow a thicker skin or just don’t WwW/PVP at all if you can’t handle someone dancing on your fictional dead body. Man…i mean what the hell ? You hypersensitive emo guys should be happy that the only thing someone can do to taunt you is dance on your corpse. You woulde have cried your heart out back in the days were Open PVP games were more prevalent. Thinking mostly of Diablo 2 here were you could get ganked anywhere at anytime or the early WoW days.
Sometimes i wonder where this world is going to….
