Cant seem to use these in the zones they are intended for
Unable to use error message pops up when u try
as above have unlocked 2 different tabs
access to the tabs has been reset
must i buy access everyday?
Downloaded the 64 bit client as soon as I heard about it and I have run it all day with no crashes.
Multiple events on full maps, Tarir and Dragonstand included
very happy with the performance improvement I have gotten
game runs smoother and faster than ever
completed all 4 maps 100% no completion reward for a single one.
make that 3 times in a row
confirmed being in a party is no protection from client crashes
apparently running your graphics at the lowest setting can help tho…..=/
happened twice in Dragonstand tonight during the final event
crash to Desktop & reloaded into overflow map even in a group after spending over an hour running the event both times
The problem is people have an I want it now mentality
and are not content to let progress be a form content
leveling up masteries and unlocking my elite spec I have found to be an incredibly engaging activity with an incredible reward at the end
I got my full elite spec unlock last night after playing a lot over the weekend and now every hero challenge in the game is redundant and the hero points will just sit in my wallet tab now for the next 2 years.
people wonder why they get bored with games so quickly
it sucks to be in a games market where the majority of consumers just want give it to me now content all the time
spent well over 2 hours doing Tarir events to be DC’d mid event on what looked like it would be a full Octovine clear, then reloaded on a map with the event complete, and no credit and no way to get back to my old map?
and it happens all the time.
is it not possible to put people back on the map they were last in in case of a sudden disconnect?
Had 3 fights vs LB ranger in WvW last night.
he was a decent player..results described above
Just too much CC and range control for a Necro to deal with
Put some concrete in your Weetbix and play Necro instead then
you want to be able to output the same dps and CC as a warrior and have the survivability of a warrior and 1500 range LB damage
You want the Best 1v1 class in the game that can also soak team fight focus fire
and bring the best boon sharing in the game at the same time?
and have the mobility of a thief as well?
the QQ never ends
Edit. realized i just described an Ele.

Puki Man
The game cant solve the existential crisis you and your friends are having.
Play Wicther for a while.
GW 2 will be here when you inevitably get bored with that.
And most probably the mountains of gear you have from grinding Instanced content for 3+ years on your multiple 80 alts will still be relevant in a game that provides mostly horizontal progression.
see you in HoT.

Terrormancer has issues due to the ramp up time on the damage and the ubiquitous presence of condi clears.
I find i engage mostly two types of PvP targets…..
ones that evade most of my attacks by dodging, going invis and blinking away, like Mezmers and Thieves.
Against good players it is impossible to accumulate any kind of meaningful Condi pressure as you just cant land enough attacks, and they can just take all day to chip you down or burst you and blink out
and 2ndly ones that just clear off the condis like Eles and Guards who put out signifigant damage pressure at the same time
or L/B rangers who just beast you from 1500 before you can get close to them
TBH All of the same problems exist for Power Necros….except you can output enough burst to upset the offensive rhythm and perhaps turn the fight with a lucky crit or a well timed fear
Im not sure Valk will be better than Cavaliers…
Necro has high health pool to start with
so why not roll that advantage into a much higher armor value?
any thoughts?
Definitely Like your idea for a minion heal…or even a minion Endure pain?
the other idea I heard that was kinda cool was the minions auto detonate as per the Bone minion active skill after a short duration or when they die….might be over kill,,,but it sounds great

So Anet are still tweaking the numbers on these Shouts….
Cast times are a given so how about some Useful feedback on the numbers that the Devs might actually read?
my suggestions below
Shouts
- “Your Soul is Mine!” – Seems pretty good until we can play test it?
Its a metric ton of Lifeforce + Health if you can get it off in a crowd.. if not run Consume conditions - “Rise!” – Needs an additional effect I think + minoins.
like poison + cripple or a boon rip to make minions or a boon conversion - “You are all Weaklings!” – Awesome skill for counter play…. stun break the enemy CC, throw up weakness to negate the burst..and get Might
I agree that the might duration may be a bit short to be off much use
and would ask to have a longer duration even at the expense of stacks. - “Nothing can Save You!” – 4-9 secs Unblockable, Boon rip and 10 stacks of Vuln for 10 sec on the same cooldown as well of suffering.
Seems pretty legit…again have to play test this to see how it plays in fights - “Suffer!” – My least favorite of the new shouts! remove a condition + 3 secs of chill every 40 sec…if your in a position to get rid of 3-4 condis…your most lightly not going to make it. Self targeted Epidemic + chill for that kind of Cooldown imo
- “Chilled to the Bone!” – Holy cow this ability is nuts!
600 range 2 sec aoe stun + 12 second Chill…..
would prefer a 7 sec base resistance duration +1 sec per target for elite skill
and Tbh I like Resistance over stability here but 2 secs for only 1 target is pretty weak
12 secs however of complete immunity to Movement impairing effects and immunity to blind, weakness, fear and slow …is like Wreck face time right ..it will force people to blow there best CC right then

Very much agree with Bhawb
and I also want to add
Keeping the Necros support options focused on debuffing enemy’s offers a unique and interesting play-style that should differentiate Necros from other classes.
If they just give Necros some team support options as demanded by the unwashed masses we will just become really kittenty elementalist copy’s, and still wont be “meta”
What we should be Demanding….ah, I mean to say asking for politely.
Is content that rewards the Debuff focused Necro as much as their party supporting counterparts
The Guardian forum is also littered with posts complaining that Dragonhunter is trash and traps suck and that no one will use it over Main DPS spec and this is not what Guardians really needed?
just like the Necro forums ...
The kitten and whining that you didn’t get what you wanted for Christmas
is rampant on every forum and will be for every Reveal yet to come.....
That is not to say that discussion on balance is not welcome...but a thread with the title Reaper Hype? is obviously self important and has a transparent agenda
If you want to engage in real discussion with the developers about balance
then probably less hyperbole and whining is advised... and more specifics! what is unbalanced, what is the evidence to support it?
If you cant do that then discussion Is not what you want...what you want is to moan loudly so everyone can see you...congrats.
An interesting build concept would be Reaper, Spite and Death Magic. Using at least the greatsword and the new shout that makes attacks unblockable and corrupting boons/inflicting vulnerability – as well as choosing many other vulnerability traits.
http://dulfy.net/gw2traits#build=AgQGvAHoA7w~
With full cavaliers you should be able to reach 3600-3900 armor while in death shroud (not sure how stats are being affected by being removed from traits) and be able to achieve 2300+ power, 200%+ critical damage and sit around 30%-%40 critical hit chance with all of the vulnerability you can constantly dish out.
Gaining protection exiting death shroud and chilled foes dealing 15% less damage to you on top of that.. the damage of berserker with the survivability of a beast? All you need is condition removal which we have plenty of. I would probably run that vulnerability shout, consume conditions, well of power and whatever else for the last utility.
Sounds fun. Sounds more viable than running full berserker in PvP which you’ll have to do now that stats are gone from traits. No more having berserker with some toughness etc.
I’m theorycrafting more for WvW though.
Yep so far I read it the same way…
Death magic and spite just seem to have really great combos with reaper…
but That means leaving the new blood tree and curses behind and the Chilling darkness adept in curses seems to be a fantastic trait to run with Reaper and that also mean no soul reaping tree ..some really tough choices here i think.

Am I the only Necro that thinks cast times are a good idea?
yes?
Anet have to get the Numbers on the shouts right to justify the cast time but this means we can justifiably ask for absurdly powerful skills to offset the cast times….yes please.
right now there are a few key abilities that I use that have cast times…..?
what are they, can you guess?
Dark pact and consume conditions….am i right?
maybe add focus 5 to that list…….scepter 3…?
now guess how often thoses abilities get interrupted or dodged in PvP……?
All the god kitten time!
why? because these are the only significant skills with cast timse so interrupts or endurance is held back for these special events!
now imagine game play where the a mistimed dodge or interrupt actually matters
where you might actually have to choose what to dodge rather then dodge the first thing that comes out, cause its a biggun?…now imagine biggun, after biggun, after buggun….which one to interuppt? better chose wisely!
Yeap Reaper gets +1 from me
I’m very excited about the possibilities of the new Specialization
but beware of getting too hyped. the reaper still has plenty of weaknesses
*Slow…the reaper will struggle catching the more agile targets and will mostly rely on people choosing to engage it…..so target selection or initiating fights will never really be on the reapers terms.
*cast times on everything…..your going to get interrupted a lot!
And with the addition of “Slow” to the game…this may cause a few blood vessels to rupture
*still no escape mechanics…you will not leave a fight ever! until you win or die. and as you wont often be able to choose which fight you get into…this will continue to frustrate Necro players.
but assuming you can overcome these obstacles there is definitely some gold in the Reaper Spec……
I think in WvW the Reaper can really punish opposing players for attempting to focus down Necros as happens now, we really didn’t get any active defense with the spec…..but……..the addition of RS #3 for pulsing stab into RS#5 into the new Elite shout followed up with a nightfall and gravedigger . especially if traited for Chill on Blind will be absurd…….but TBh honest if you want to roll reaper come HoT you best be in the zerg were you belong…solo or roaming i think the spec will be Fodder
This is to be expected really.
people have a lot of WoW deprogramming to go through and its going to be rough
for some people.
gear grinding and weekly repeating the same old raid content week after week after week has been embedded in many gamers minds as acceptable long term Gaming realities..as “a reason to play” literally and metaphorically.
In fact some people just wont be able make the leap to a game that provides fun
as the primary motivator to play…..rather than the virtual ego support a long term gear treadmill provides
In fact some people (like the kid that stabbed his neighbor) gain real personal sense of achievement from having the best gear and such.
I love that I will be able to have busy month at work and not fall woefully behind some impossible gear curve …if that means I have to provide my own motivation to play
rather than be spoon fed a upgrade treadmill so be it…im in boots and all
In fact it almost sounds healthy …having to be creative enough to make my own fun
sounds like whats kids have done since the cardboard box was invented
Let me try and clarify myself a bit more. Death Shroud is very powerful because it gives Necromancer access to a secondary health bar which is is much more reliably renewable than normal health is for other professions. On top of that it essentially also gives them a 3rd weapon set that they can use to circumvent the basic weapon swap cooldown to reliably bounce between powerful skills in 3 different sets. For both of these reasons, Necromancer has a high power ceiling but also an extremely high learning curve.
In the current condition heavy meta-game, there is a lot of condition removal. The problem this is causing for Necromancers is that they do not have a lot of build diversity in this meta, because they don’t have any great power builds they can turn to. What I would like to try and do is increase build diversity without increasing effectiveness because I don’t believe we have really seen what strong Necromancers can do yet.
Hopefully that explains a bit where we stand. We are still working towards getting rid of all of the bugs in everyone’s skills and traits at which point we can get a much better idea of where everyone stands. That time will also give us the chance to see where the large amount of current players actually takes the meta game.
Jon
Understood mate and I believe this is on the right track
With proper use of DS and Bleed stacking I am extremely hard to beat 1v1.
Add in an “always up” elite skill like Flesh Golem which also adds tremendous DPS and utility
the only classes the I find really tough to beat are bleed Rangers with quickness
because they do the same thing in half the time and well played Mesmers
I guess any player that is thoughtful about condition removal and is a good player can do quite well against me..but that is balance right?
The problem is Scepter/Dagger and 20+ points in Curses is mandatory
any time I switch to Axe or Dagger main its like stabbing myself in the eye with a rusty fork.
this also means that staff is the only decent weapon swap available
the other of hands offer little next to dagger with its extra bleeds and condition transfer and there is no clear reason to choose focus over War-horn either as access to swiftness is just so kitten important
I already dedicate a whole utility slot just to having a functional movement skill
