I don’t see the problem. We have a single player instance that moves the story for people who just want to get on with… whatever they like to do in game. And then the usual 5 man dungeon. Personally I was happy seeing the single player Canach, so that I could do something that wouldn’t take an hour or two. I can’t speak to difficulty of the exp dungeon, but I don’t see either hardcore or casual being robbed in what was essentially a 50/50 compromise. o.O
Has learning new skills on old weapons been discussed as an option. (i.e. a different skill path or replacement skills maybe by weapon achievements). There are only so many weapons they could use, but maybe weilding a greatsword with more support options (guardian) or a dagger with nature rituals (ranger), could be an interesting way to add more progression/diversity.
I actually like the sword design. Its definitely unique compared to other weapon skills. I pair it with the short bow and use the 2 skill to combo into weapon switch. The 3 skill isnt much of problem once you get a feel for where its gonna put you, and it is a nice dodge. The 1 skill does does kind of bring down the energy when you get smacked by a knockdown you saw a mile away and you really cant strafe attack (which is kind of key to survival), but i liked the acrobatic “i’m a ninja” feel of it too. Not sure if they can fix this or not without ruining agile feel they were clearly going for :/
