SOLUTION:

Go to your GW2 application. Right-click and choose “Show Package Contents”
Navigate Contents -> Resources -> transgaming -> c_drive -> GW2
Rename gw2.exe to oldgw2.exe
Rename gw2.tmp to gw2.exe.
Launch GW2.

The launcher will start and will begin the download. I’m downloading now.

Edit: The fix persists through multiple launches.

My launcher appeared too, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Arenanet needs to give this guy/gal/other a medal or cookie or something.

I’m now having this same issue. Is there any way you could share more details about this GFX fix? I’m trying everything I can. Was running through Lion’s Arch, saw the patch notice come through, logged out to download, and now nothing. Everything was working just fine before!
