“Who Mustnotbe Named” – Thief
Angry Intent [AI] Yak’s Bend
I would prefer this changed back to Friday because some of my guildies are OCX and their weekend is gone by saturday for them to feel like they have made a contribution. In fact open it up earlier on friday to say 2 hours earlier than it was before HoT. I know Anet is commited to getting those fixes out on friday, but its in general a bad time to bring anything to launch. You all leave for the weekend, and leave a large portion of the player base to suffer a bug through the weekend. Impliment those changes on a monday even if it means delaying it out 3 days.
Thank You Anet for listening.
I think having the low cooldown ability to pressure can heavily outweigh the high cooldown one shot wonders. These elites generally can be dodged or mitigated.
Well written, Fozzik.
Update: I had a friend start instance and it acted as a work around to give me credit, but refused to give me any rewards for completion. :\
Cannot continue story conversation past ogden stone healer to allow interaction with hourglass. It allows 6 dialogues all of which after completing does not allow progression.
I have been using a similar build since the engi rework announcement and it basically lets me zerg dive while dealing tons of damage.
Build Strengths:
Spammable Blast finishers with 4.75s and 12s cooldowns
Low cooldown stunbreak 33s
53% reduced damage under stun. (engi’s have weak stunbreaks)
53% condi reduction on snares
20% condi reduction on DoTs
Strong Movement on Elixir Gun 4 and Rifle 5’s extended leap range 650 and 800 respectively (swap kits mid EG4 jump to maintain momentum for the extra range as Wolfineer would do)
17 stacks of might strong uptime
Elixir C ‘oh crap’ button – full condi clear
very low cooldown 25s aoe condi convert to boon ‘Toss Elixir C’ (Toss Elixir C can be used on yourself while you are in mist form to remove snares and big DoTs)
Escape:
Mist form at low health + Toss Elixir C while mistform + EG4 and Rifle 5
Heal:
13.5k HP (78% of total HP every 20s) [8.4k AOE HEAL HP]
Heal skill blast finisher (20s cd waterfield) [5040hp + 2640hp(from 2 blast finishers)]
Toolbelt Heal (2nd 20s cd Waterfield)/FT2 [1320hp]
EG5 [700 + pulsing 205 so long as inside field]
Total: 9700HP on 20s cooldown Does not include 12 seconds of regeneration [1560hp over 12s]or pulsing heal [2255 if stay inside EG5 field for 10s]
Alternate Traits:
Formula 409: 3 condi removal aoe instead of 2 on Toss Elixir C. I have personally felt the impact of running this to get away from the zerg in mistform.
Precise Sights: 50% Vulnerability on Hit no Cooldown -on Flamethrower that pumps 4.44 hits per second constant at the cost of higher cd on escape EG4 and knockback FT3 without affecting spammable blast finishing too much.
Hopefully I can post a video here soon of this.
I dont like it.
Im playing P/P myself in PvP when Im bored and it is far more effective as expected but this build is a nightmare. No evade and the dmg is really bad.
Ummm, no evade? o0. How are you coming to this conclusion?
What this build did at the outset was maximize for initiative generation, the bane of unload centered pistol pistol builds. This build is an easy to learn linear build with room for error. This let’s us start off with a clean slate to take another look at bringing pistol pistol back into meta.
Let’s take a look at better sustain and damage as we suffer from a lack of damage modifiers from traditional builds:
It was brought to my attention that signet of malice (on hit heal) could be reintegrated into this build by swapping out hastened replenishment (on heal initiative gain) for opportunist (chance on crit to regain initiative minor trait) in the critical line.
This results in a slight drop in initiative regeneration, but this build already has enough initiative generation for the highly skilled. As we have a heal skill we do not intend to use in order to build up additional swiftness from rune of the air, we can swap out that rune set.
Thoughts on a new rune set:
If we used runes of rage, this would result in a 60% uptime in fury or a 12% average increase in damage due to 6th rune trait. Or we can add an additional 5 stacks of might from dodging and a stronger addition to our damage by using power instead of ferocity via “Strength” runes. We experience 46% uptime in fury rather than 60% from the rage rune set by swapping in thrill of the crime as requested.
Aside: Uncatchable was included to add cripple to people trying to melee you as we were already dodging frequently, but we will suspend it for now. We are refocusing this build into a cannon.
The build is still hinged on dodging frequently, but as we have a heal skill we cannot take advantage of vigor, we will swap in pain response for some light damage over time condi clear.
We will swap out the 3 condi clears per minute from cleansing sigil for more might stacks via Strength sigil as our might duration is a tremendous 75%.
New build after recommendations:

Rune of the air gives swiftness on heal. Combine this with withdraw and 3 points into vitality line and you have permanent swiftness. The added ferocity on crit builds is also nice, but power would have been preferable.
I was just kicked from the game by someone spamming me this while in WvW. I couldnt click on them to report them, and hovering over it caused my disconnect while leading in wvw. Game client wouldnt allow a screen capture in time to see who was spamming me this. Can I get a MOD to take a look at who was spamming me this at 8:45est on 2-10-2015? This seems like someone was trying to trigger an exploit to kick people in leading in wvw.
I had 4 commander tags before the patch. I used them on my Thief, one of my guardians, my warrior and my necro. I waited a week thinking the 100 gold I would get from the refund would eventually show up. It didn’t. 3 copy paste responses from Customer support later they are telling me that there is no way they can actually review my in game information to confirm or deny that I received my 100 gold or not. They can only conclude that I was “ineligible.” I was then told to file an in game bug report and to post here regarding the issue. I am not the only one saying they did not get refund.
Remaining positive,
Guild Wars 2 fan
I had 4 commander tags prior to patch and did not receive refund. I am finding other posts that indicate they had the same issue. Customer support keeps telling me that I am ineligible, but they won’t give any specifics. (899008:Commander Tag Refund)
The game is called Guild Wars, not Server Wars. Dump the idea of servers and replace them with Guild Alliances. Having Guild Alliances that battle against other Guild Alliances would allow everyone to play exactly the way they want to play.
- Allow any guild create an Alliance (that Guild leader is now the Alliance leader).
- Allow the Alliance leader to invite other guilds to join their Alliance.
- Create several Arenas based on Alliance population cap and allow the Alliance leader to enter their Alliance into any Arena as long as they don’t exceed the Alliance cap. If you only have 200 people, but you want to play in the 800cap Arena just to prove a point, then go for it. There definitely also needs to be a 114cap arena. That’s only 2 people per building and 1 person per camp. Now, FIGHT!
- Before a person is eligible to battle in the Guild Wars, that person must be marked by their guild as eligible and only eligible players count against the Alliance cap. (that way you can still have PvE friends in your guild without them counting against your Alliance cap and Bob can go on vacation without needing to leave the guild).

Maybe our servers can rebrand ourselves as alliances and Anet can create a new matchup system to pair server alliances together as the same color.
This will retain imminent domain of server identity.
Raise server populations that get paired servers together with mobility to experience allies in many servers.
A chat interface to rally our alliance together. (Alliance is wvw only chatbox where everyone who chooses to align themselves to a server at implementation of the system can chose which alliance to belong to a.k.a. free transfers at outset.)
A use for “team chat” in wvw as a means of communication between server alliances.
Every other alliance competes to improve their rating/coverage. Alliance that work well together merge guilds at leisure (Free transfers to different alliances of same color matchup).
Top 3 alliances wont get free transfers. Smaller alliances have opportunity to gravitate towards bigger Alliances if they like. Limit of 1 free transfer every 3 months.
Having Alliance mega-guilds competing against each other will add new flavor to the mix.
This must also be accompanied by the ability to make “new” alliances that can only enter the pool of matchups once the alliance reaches a threshold of a 1000 people.
Allow us the opportunity to recreate our own identities. Let us bring back identities that the megaserver has stolen from us.
This will require new maps to get people back into stagnate matchup/strategies. When other games needed to solidify the healthiness of a changing meta, they needed to add more maps. Starcraft did this. Put manpower on this. Get that Living Story Team in on this! Grow or Die, WvW will change greatly regardless of what system is implemented.

Please no yakswag. Please no. The notion brings a cold sweat-induced panic. Magpies and yaks do not mix sir…
7/10 Good colors and I like the masks
The peg leg gives the ability to do knockback at melee range. The only issue I can see with this is if your opponent is stationary. This is a mobile game. When you try to quickly follow the plank up with another plank, it has a cooldown longer than the knockdown effect: You can dodge out of the way. Cliff faces become interesting as battles can turn into what is essentially a spanish bullfight tricking others into getting too close to a cliff. Although I am completely in favor of removing consumables that are essentially a spammable win button, “The Peg Leg” does not fall in this category due to medium cooldown and the skillful movement required to line up the attack.
They become effective after an average of 4.917 people use it. (less than a max party size, presuming everyone in your party contributes 2 of their half hour buffs)
Hint 1: Buff doesn’t last half hour like normal food buffs.
Hint 2: You can reacquire the feast to extend the time limit.
Hint 3: It is advantageous to not have to open an item menu to re-click on a food buff.
I have already used 3 stacks of them for WvW on the Yaks Bend server. I have 3 more stacks on my main of many varieties.
