I had a friend of mine who initially did not want anything to do with GW2. he, like me, had grown bored of WoW but still played it some unlike myself. he got the secret world when it came out and seemed to be enjoying it, I got GW2 and of course I am enjoying it.

his reasons for not liking GW2 came down to the combat system though, not the grind. he had heard it was just spam buttons with no strategy or thought and I could not convince him otherwise pre-launch. however, he recently bought the game though because all of his friends were playing and enjoying it and he actually watched some gameplay videos.

I think the game is doing fine and it will slowly grow in popularity as more and more people realize how good it really is. this will only be accelerated by the content updates they’re doing.

I was just about to post and say basically the same thing. congrats on not only being considered an exploiter by Anet, but also advertising what Anet considers “exploits”. namely, doing dungeons.

maybe they should just rename them to “exploits” so everyone is on the same page. “hey, did you do any exploits yet?” “no man, I’m not even 30 yet!”

the karma weapon thing, I was fine with and it was clearly a problem.
the cooking thing I was iffy on as to just how terrible of an exploit it was, but hey ok karma to gold conversion wasn’t supposed to be a thing. alright, whatever.
this though, is ridiculous. at the very least, calling it an “exploit” is laughable at best. at best.

except for the part where it literally was impossible until blizzard nerfed it so the top guilds could beat him.

it proves that they have not yet handled this one particular guy on your server. not that they are not handling anything. look at the archives of the game updates they did just after launch, they listed the numbers of people they banned for it.

the issue is not that they are doing nothing, it is that they aren’t doing something fast enough for you, personally.

No, they don’t need you repeating the same thing. They know it, and it appears they’ve decided they have better things to do, like fixing bugs, then to remove one spammer on one server, whose just going to be back in a couple hours with different name.

Just because YOU don’t like how they handle it doesn’t mean it’s not being handled.

If their stance is to let gold spammers and bots go that’s cool. A dev needs to come tell me that and I’ll stop. Otherwise I will continue. Feel free to not click on this thread to continue defending the gold farmers and bots.

disagreement with your “method” of dealing with the gold sellers is not the same as supporting gold sellers. are you going to have a freakout each and every time you see a gold spam in /map while in rata sum?

just because you don’t see anything happening currently, doesn’t mean nothing is actually being done. you’re wasting your own time and risking a forum ban over 1 guy on 1 server in 1 city. your tirade won’t speed anything up. is your forum posting ability worth so little to you?

support tickets have multi-day wait times. what makes you think they can get to every gold seller in <6 hours? it’s pretty clear that they are not blowing smoke about banning people, they are just swamped.

that’s the thing. I’ve managed to use it well a few times, which is great and how I expect it to work all the time. the problem is that the rest of the time it simply does close to nothing, including knocking people about, actually casting the skills, etc. I’ve run all over people’s faces in certain instances only to have them never be affected by the knock backs and continue attacking me/ capping points/ stomping allies with impunity. that is why I say it’s unreliable. it’s a crapshoot whether or not it’s going to work any given time you cast it.

the enemies did not have stability at the time, either.

has anyone had any success using the tornado transformation elite for anything other than a good laugh? it seems to have a ton of issues with it. to wit:

1) unresponsive skills. there’s no indication that you are “casting” anything when you use any of the 3 skills available in tornado form. instead, you simply hope that something will happen eventually while mashing the key. this makes it pretty well useless in sPvP, since there’s no way to know if you’re going to knock that guy back or just ruffle his hair for a while while he kills you

2) bugs out if you cast it during mist form. if you use the skill while in mist form, the tornado transform will end when mist form ends, wasting the skill and putting it on cooldown.

3) ninja tornado! at LEAST half the time when I use this skill, I simply cannot see myself any longer. the particle effects for the tornado just don’t show up at all, making issue 1 even worse and more annoying as I can’t even tell where I’m truly at anymore.
edit: I should note that I am running on max settings comfortably for this point. there is no graphics option available to me that I can set any higher.

anyone else experienced these issues? I don’t recall it being this terrible in the betas, but it sure isn’t worth anyone’s time now, let alone 30 skill points.
