Seriously, who had the bright idea to make mobs invulnerable if they can’t hit people. It’s stupid. Humans have been using terrain to fight animals ever since we could pick up a rock.
And what’s more, it’s broken. I can’t count the number of times I will have beaten a mob down 50-90%, when out of the blue, it will run a few steps away, become invulnerable, heal to full, and then come back and start fighting again. It is especially bad underwater – probably at least 20% of my fights underwater have some type of this
If you are soooooo worried that somehow being able to kill a mob from a cliff will drastically imbalance the game ( though I am not sure how…), then be smart about it – other MMOs had the monsters run out of the range of bows if they couldn’t reach their attacker. That is a clever approach.
The current approach is an obvious demonstration of lazy game design and is probably my single biggest gripe about this game. Try thinking about what animals would do – some run away, some futilely try to attack, and some even stand around looking stupid.
Please fix this.
