It is either, is SoS losing points or they are gaining points?
JQ isn’t comfortable where we are, but we have been playing the same SBI-style Third-place-server for months. BG could fight SoS, but not how they are used to. They could hold SoS down, instead of holding JQ down, and actually accomplish something. It would take out smarting SoS at their own tactics and not going for the easy points.
Is SoS losing points or they are gaining points?
SoS plays what the board offers them, and they do it well. SoS doesn’t see an Objective being taken by an enemy as a loss to them. They see it as an opportunity to parallel attacking fronts, in which either JQ or BG does half or more of the work.
Tier 1 needs an SoS Jr, a true Tier 1, First Place, Server, not another Server that thinks they can take easy points and have First fall in their lap. SoS may not be “masterminding” the Tier 1 match-ups but the board has been easy pickings for too long.
BG, SoS is going to take ALL of your points once they are done with you. Enjoy this short term moral boost.
To clarify, relative and consistent points, are what matter.
Here are some key points:
- 3rd and 2nd attacking 1st, 2nd and 3rd rank up the fastest.
- 3rd and 2nd fighting, 1st ranks up the fastest.
- 1st controls their own ranking by consistently scoring the same or better, compared to last week.
- The least amount of points gained by 1st, increases the ranks of 3rd and 2nd.
There can never be a true, cease-fire, truce, to take down First, BUT if Second and Third focus First hard enough, it can make for closer finishes at the end of the week.
The whole ranking system is based upon how close Second and Third are to First and how consistent last weeks First place server was.
This is how it works.
Coron and SoS do work hard to make sure they win WvW, every week.
The problem is when one side temporarily teams up with SoS, for what ever reason, and lets SoS sneak past and extend their lead. Until SoS is left with no breathing room, they will continue to use this tactic/plan/strategy.
SoS has out played Tier 1 for awhile. GG SoS.
wolfie, if you only knew how many on JQ are rooting for BG to make a showing this week.
Don’t leave free points on the board.
Attacking the First place server will always yield more ranking points. This is especially true for a server that has a hard time with coverage, or that consistently finishes Third.
As a server in Third, attacking Second, when First has the coverage and man power to dominate 3+ maps is not productive in Tier 1 and normally leads to First winning by a large margin.
Play with your head BG and work the score in your favor. Lessen the gap between SoS and yourself and you will have earned Second or even First place by the end of the week.
BG is doing it right. Finally a server that wants to pressure SoS for First… On the weekend!
Anyone else notice that as SBI drops to Tier 2, the chances of CD moving up to Tier 2, two weeks from now, are very good?
That is if you understand how the scoring works…
WvW updates need to happen sooner than latter. JQ [SWG]
Maybe you haven’t factored the cost of lodestones and Tier 6 materials. For example Foefire skins or Volcanus.
I knew 2 months ago I wouldn’t get/try for a Legendary. Now with the current market status I will never craft an Exotic Skin… Is this fun?
How difficult was it to see that Bots had a huge impact on the economy?
Wouldn’t it make sense if Anet considered something like this:
Number of Bots banned?
The number of hours those Bots played?
Factoring the drop rate while those accounts were active?
Calculating the amount of items that will no longer be entering the economy?
I am honestly considering quitting the game if the Winter event puts an even higher demand on T6 items (including lodes stones, etc.). This is a mismanaged economy.
On a side note, why are the drops in WvW so horrible? It would be a great way to introduce items, especially since it is lacking anything that resembles end game loot.
